  4. The Type-Designer is an application to create Adobe Type1-Fonts 
  5. under Windows 3.x. 
  6.  
  7. The generated fonts can be used under ATM in every Windows 
  8. application, or directly with many applications and all PostScript
  9. printers.
  10.  
  11. Actually there is only a pre-release German version available.
  12.  
  13. But the product will become available soon.

  16. Specification

  19. - you can read and write Type1-Fonts 
  20. - you can use lines and beziΘr-curves for the outline of characters
  21. - you can use hints (incl. hint replacement)
  22. - you can use a background Bitmap (DIB, b/w Bitmap, HP-Soft fonts) 
  23.   to ease the design of characters
  24. - you can use global transformations to modify a font
  25. - you can encode a font at your needs
  26. - you can move points and segments
  27. - you can rotate, italicise, stretch or mirror characters
  28. - you can use the clipboard to store parts of characters
  29. - you can use the clipboard to get a background Bitmap
  30. - you can control the coordinates of all character pieces directly 
  31. - you have a control panel to set options easily

  35. The final version of Type-Designer will include two high-quality Type1-Fonts 
  36. (equivalent to Brush Script and Cooper Black).

  51. Restrictions of demo version

  54. The only restriction of the demo version is, that you cannot 
  55. save your work!

  59. Installation
  60. ------------

  62. To install the Type-Designer Software you have to copy the files
  63.  
  64.     TD.EXE        Type-Designer main program
  65.     TD.HLP        help file (yet only in German available)
  66.     BWCC.DLL    Borland Windows Custom Control Library
  67.  
  68. in a separate directory. If you use Windows 3.0 please copy TD.HLP in 
  69. your Windows directory.

  71. Please copy the demo font files 
  72.  
  73.     demo____.pfb
  74.     demo____.pfm
  75.  
  76. to your PostScript font directories (normally C:\PSFONTS and
  77. C:\PSFONTS\PFM).

  79. Install the font for use under ATM with the ATM Control Panel.
  80. If you have a PostScript printer connected to your System, please 
  81. update your WIN.INI file!
