  1. ~1 THE "MOVIES AVAILABLE" SCREEN
  2.       Browse through the list of movies by using the Up and Down
  3.       Arrow keys, or double click the title with your mouse.  If
  4.       you have a specific title in mind, type the first few letters
  5.       of the title.
  6.  
  7.       For example:
  8.           To read about the movie, ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES
  9.           type the letters  ROBI  to highlight it.
  10.  
  11.       Press the ENTER key to read the information stored about the
  12.       highlighted movie.
  13.  
  14.       The upper right hand corner of the TV Screen shows how many
  15.       movies are available in this menu.  To display only a
  16.       specific type of movie in this menu, press the F2 key to
  17.       perform a SEARCH.
  18.  
  19.       This powerful function will help you to display only the
  20.       kinds of movies you like, such as Comedies, World War II
  21.       movies, John Wayne movies, PG movies, etc.

  24.       Press the  ENTER  key to continue . . .
  25. ~2 MAIN SEARCH SCREEN
  26.       Use the Arrow Keys to highlight the kind of search you want
  27.       to do, then press the  ENTER  key.  To start the Search
  28.       Routine, press the  F5  key.

  30.       For example, find all the COMEDIES starring JOHN WAYNE:
  31.  
  32.           1.  Press ENTER on the CATEGORY selection from this menu.
  33.               When the category menu appears, arrow over to the
  34.               COMEDY selection, then press ENTER.
  35.  
  36.           2.  Arrow over to the CAST selection on this menu, and
  37.               press ENTER.  When the cast menu appears, type WAYNE,
  38.               JOHN then press ENTER.

  40.           3.  Now that you have set up your search for JOHN WAYNE /
  41.               COMEDY movies, press the F5 Find It! key.  A list of
  42.               movies will appear which star John Wayne in a Comedy.

  44.       There literally THOUSANDS of ways you can find the movies you
  45.       want with the ImagiMOVIE GUIDE's powerful searches!

  47.       Try using the KEY WORD search to look for "Academy Award",
  48.       "Top 10", "Best Picture", "True Love", "Highly Recommended",
  49.       "James Bond", "Stephen King", "Underwater Movies" or any
  50.       other group of words you can think of.

  54. ~3 CATEGORY SEARCH SCREEN
  55.       The ImagiMOVIE GUIDE lets you search for movies
  56.       which qualify in up to three categories.  Searching
  57.       for movies which qualify in only ONE category will
  58.       list more movies than a search which must qualify
  59.       in THREE categories.

  61.       FOR EXAMPLE:
  62.           Arrow over to COMEDY and press ENTER.  You have
  63.           told the computer to search for ALL comedies
  64.           (LOTS of movies qualify).

  66.       2ND EXAMPLE:
  67.           Arrow over to COMEDY and press F7 Mark.  Now
  68.           arrow over to FAMILY and press F7 Mark. You
  69.           have told the computer to search for all movies
  70.           which are BOTH comedies AND family movies (a
  71.           far fewer number will be found).

  73.       When you are done marking your selections, press
  74.       the  ENTER  key to begin your search.

  78. ~4 REVIEW SEARCH SCREEN
  79.       Some movies in the ImagiMOVIE GUIDE have been
  80.       categorized in on of three categories:
  81.           Good
  82.           Average
  83.           Poor
  84.  
  85.       Movies categorized as "Good" are those movies which
  86.       were in the Top 10 in box office sales, were
  87.       nominated for or earned "Best Picture" by the
  88.       Motion Picture Academy, or were enjoyed very much
  89.       by the reviewer.
  90.  
  91.       "Average" movies are generally enjoyable to watch
  92.       but are weak in one way or another.
  93.  
  94.       We have tried to keep as many "Poor" movies out of
  95.       the ImagiMOVIE Guide as possible.  These movies
  96.       have major flaws and should be avoided.

  99. ~5 ACTOR / ACTRESS SEARCH SCREEN
  100.       To highlight the name of the actress or actor you
  101.       want to search by, type the first few letters of
  102.       their last name.  For example, to search for all
  103.       Mel Gibson movies, type GIBS and arrow down to Mel
  104.       Gibson's name and press the ENTER key.  To see a
  105.       picture of Mel Gibson, press the F6 Photo key.
  106.  
  107.       You can also search for movies which contain
  108.       several actors or actresses. For example, to review
  109.       all movies with have BOTH John Wayne AND Maureen
  110.       O'Hara, highlight John Wayne's name (as described
  111.       above) and press the F7 Mark key.  Now highlight
  112.       Maureen O'Hara's name and press the F7 Mark key.
  113.       When you are done marking your selections, press
  114.       the ENTER key.  After you press the F5 Find It!
  115.       key, all the movies where Maureen O'Hara and John
  116.       Wayne starred together will appear on the screen
  117.       (there were only three).

  121. ~6 DIRECTOR SEARCH SCREEN
  122.       Highlight the name of the director you want to
  123.       search for typing the first few letters of their
  124.       last name.  For example, to search for all Steven
  125.       Spielberg movies, type SPIEL and press the ENTER
  126.       key.

  128.       As a general rule, if you like a movie, you will
  129.       like other movies by the same director.

  133. ~7 "YEAR" SEARCH SCREEN
  134.       The "Year" search is especially valuable for those
  135.       who like "old movies" or "recent releases".

  137.       EXAMPLE 1:
  138.       To search for movies from 1988 to present, enter
  139.       1988 and press the ENTER key (the automatic "TO"
  140.       year is the present year).

  142.       EXAMPLE 2:
  143.       To search for movies made in 1939 (which many say
  144.       was the best movie year ever), enter 1939 TO 1939
  145.       then press the ENTER key.

  147.       EXAMPLE 3:
  148.       To search for all the movies made in the 1950s,
  149.       enter 1950 TO 1959 then press the ENTER key.

  153. ~8 MPAA RATING SEARCH SCREEN
  154.       The MPAA rating has undergone several changes since
  155.       it was established in the mid 1960s, but is still
  156.       useful as a general guide.  Movies which were
  157.       formerly rated "GP" we have rated "PG" and movies
  158.       which received the "M" rating we rated "PG-13".
  159.       "X" rated movies and recent movies which were
  160.       released in the movie theaters as "R", but came out
  161.       in video as "Not rated" to allow more sex or
  162.       violence we have generally rated as "NC-17"

  164.       EXAMPLE 1:
  165.       To search for all "R" rated movies, highlight the
  166.       "R" icon and press the ENTER key.

  168.       EXAMPLE 2:
  169.       To search for all "G", "PG" or "Not Rated" movies
  170.       (the movies which contain the least amount of
  171.       objectionable material), highlight the "G" icon and
  172.       press the F7 Mark key. Mark the "PG" icon in the
  173.       same way.  When you are on the "Not Rated" icon,
  174.       press the ENTER key.

  178. ~9 KEY WORD SEARCH SCREEN
  179.       The key word search is perhaps the most flexible
  180.       and fun search to do because you can search for any
  181.       word, or consecutive group of words, which appears
  182.       in the synopsis or in any review.  Each movie in
  183.       the ImagiMOVIE guide has several selections under
  184.       "Special Categories" to help you home in on your
  185.       specific interests such as "Disney Movies", "World
  186.       War II", "Creature Movies", "Dog Movies",
  187.       "Reincarnation", "Sequels", etc.

  189.       To display all the movies which sold more tickets
  190.       than all the others for each year, search for
  191.       "Number 1".  Search for "Top 5" to display the five
  192.       top movies of each year.
  193.  
  194.       It's fun to search for the name of your city or
  195.       state to see what movies were made in the area that
  196.       you live in. If you like the reviews of a
  197.       particular reviewer, search for that reviewer's
  198.       name.  In short, you can search for just about
  199.       ANYTHING using the key word search.

  203. ~10 THE "NOW SHOWING" SCREEN
  204.       Press the UP ARROW to move to the previous movie,
  205.       and the DOWN ARROW to move to the next movie.
  206.       Press the F4 key to read a review on this movie.

  208.       If you have a MOUSE you can also do the following
  209.       searches from this screen:

  211.       KEY WORD SEARCH: Click the mouse on any word, or
  212.       between any two words to start a key word search.
  213.  
  214.       ACTOR SEARCH: Click the mouse on the name of any
  215.       actor or actress to search for all the movies which
  216.       star that person.  If there is a photo stored for
  217.       this actor it will be displayed on the screen.

  219.       DIRECTOR SEARCH: Click the mouse on the director's
  220.       name to search all movies which star this director.
  221.  
  222.       CATEGORY SEARCH:  Click the mouse on any of the
  223.       categories displayed on this screen to search for
  224.       all movies which belong to this category.

  228. ~11 THE PHOTO DISPLAY
  229.       Press the ENTER key to close actor's / actress's
  230.       photo window.  If you are wondering why the
  231.       pictures aren't of a higher quality, it's because
  232.       the ImagiMOVIE Guide can currently display only 16
  233.       colors on the screen at one time.  At sometime in
  234.       the future we will support Super VGA which can
  235.       display 256 colors at one time.
