  3. SWEETDOS.ZIP is a set of files which display an animated, old-fashioned wall
  4. clock in full color.  The program requires an IBM-PC or compatible with a VGA
  5. display.  A high-speed 286 or 386 machine with a RAM disk cache is recommended
  6. for good quality animation.  SWEETDOS including all image files is Copyright
  7. 1990 by Dick LeVitt.  Permission is granted to copy, distribute, and use
  8. SWEETDOS for personal enjoyment at no charge.  However, if you wish to include
  9. all or a portion of SWEETDOS files or images in programs of your own, please
  10. contact:

  17. The SWEETDOS package includes:
  18.  
  19.     CLOCKWRX.EXE    The program to display and run the clock.
  20.     MAINSPRG.EXE    A utility program called by CLOCKWRX, not run by user.
  21.     README.CLK    This file.
  22.     CLOCKST.FLI    The initial clock image.
  23.         CLOCKFWD.MDF    Forward pendulum animation.
  24.     CLOCKBAK.MDF    Backward pendulum animation.
  25.     MENU.MDF    The main menu.
  26.     DAY.MDF        An icon to indicate daytime.
  27.     NITE.MDF    An icon to indicate nightime.

  29. To operate the clock:
  30.  
  31.     1)  Transfer the package to a hard disk directory of your choice and
  32.             unpack using PKUNZIP.
  33.  
  34.     2)  From your chosen directory, type:  "CLOCKWRX".
  35.  
  36.     3)  Set the time-of-day using the left and right arrow keys.  The
  37.             'day' icon will indicate time settings between 12 AM and 12 PM,
  38.         complemented by the 'night' icon for times between 12 PM and 12
  39.             AM.     Press ALT-T to set your system clock to the new time or ESC
  40.             to return the clock to normal operation with no change in setting.

  42.     4)  Press ALT-S if you'd like to hear a ticking sound, ALT-S again
  43.         for silence.  Note:  the clock has no chime.

  45.     5)  ESC from the main menu will return you to DOS.

  50. SWEETDOS makes extensive use of modified Autodesk Animator FLI files.  Hats
  51. off to Autodesk for creating Animator...rarely has an an application given me
  52. so many hours of pure fun!  Hats off too for FLI.LIB by Dancing Flame.  A
  53. variation of Dancing Flame's FLI player helped make SWEETDOS possible.
