Shareware version allows you to play and complete the first level of the game.
When left alone (no keyboard activity) demo will self-demonstrate part of the
last level.
Distribution version has 8 levels (about 620 rooms) and more digitized sound
effects and music!
■■ Mission
The hero has to go through eight multilevel stories of a space base, which has
been run over by Aliens. Much time has passed since the moment the station was
taken over and its present hosts have introduced considerable changes. They
have liquidated the earthly equipment that served to transfer people from one
level to another. There are no stairs, elevators or ladders. Instead, the
Aliens have installed their own much better transportation device, namely the
teleport platforms. Using this equipment is simple even for a Terrestrial, but
getting to know all the points where teleportation remains effective, may be a
little difficult.
On each level, there is one main platform that allows one to obtain transfer
to another level. Yet using the platform is only possible if one possesses
three special electronic circuits. Because the station is now being
reconstructed and there is considerable chaos, the three circuits may by found
on close inspection of the passageways. Foreseeing the possibility of the
Terrestrial undertaking, a similar action to the one undertaken by our hero,
the Aliens equipped the base with numerous security systems. They installed
automatic cannons and barriers, placed hundreds of mines, set up missile
launchers reacting to human beings, and scattered defensive robots throughout
the area. To prevent our hero from relying exclusively on his dexterity and
his cybernetics powered muscles he was equipped with the most modern power
machine guns available on Earth. The range, fire power, and effectiveness of
this weapon depend only on the charging level of its batteries. The more
energy our hero is able to find along the corridors, the more destructive the
weapon in his hands and the easier his task of overcoming the traps, which
have been set up for him.
The entire above described world exists only inside the computer. Thanks to
this we obtain certain facilities, which are so much needed in the real world.
The hero is able to repeat his attempts to take control of a station level an
indefinite number of times. On each level there are special control points
that make a record of the place our hero has reached. When we find and touch
such a point, we can be sure that if we make a mistake and die, we shall be
able to continue the mission beginning with the last control point we have
reached. However, taking advantage of this facility leads to a total discharge
of the gun batteries and forces us to look for sources of energy yet again.
For the price of an increased risk that in case of death, the hero will have
to cover a much longer route from the previous control point, we can bypass
this point and keep the gun charged for much longer. In the lower part of the
screen, there are gauges that indicate the current state of our weapon. The
right one marks the battery charging level and at the same time informs us
about the gun's fire power. The last two shots on the current power level are
signal by indicator blinks. After each shot, the gun must be allowed time for
regeneration of its internal electronic circuits and cooling off its energy
generator. This limits severely the gun's rapid fire capability. The indicator
on the left side of the monitor indicates the gun's temperature. Close nearby
there also appear the recovered elements that are necessary for setting the
main teleport platform in motion.
