- FAMILY HISTORY SYSTEM
- Program Diskette for Basic Set of Programs
-
- This is the second of a two diskette set for the May 1991 update of the
- public version of the Family History System. This diskette has all of the
- publicly distributed programs. The first diskette in the set has the
- documentation (an 84 page manual), sample files and installation instructions.
-
- If you don't have the first diskette but would like to try the programs out,
- just expand the programs from the BASICPGM.ZIP file and start the system
- using the FAMINIT program.
-
- For instance, if you wish to install the programs on a hard drive, (drive C:),
- use the following sequence of commands:
- C>md \family create a directory for the programs
- C>cd \family make it the "current" directory
- C>a:pkunzip /o a:basicpgm *.* expand the programs into the directory
- Then whenever you want to use the programs, enter:
- C>cd \family
- C>faminit
-
- The programs on this diskette are being made available for you to use without
- placing you under any obligation to make any additional payment for the use
- of the programs. Further, you may give copies of the programs to any
- interested persons, provided:
- a. you only give them unaltered copies of the diskettes, just as
- you received them;
- b. you do not charge anything for the copies beyond what may be
- required to cover the costs of materials, postage and handling.
-
- If you would like to receive some extended options that permit you to create
- index files, produce a variety of indexed listings, and print summary reports,
- among other things...you can become a registered user by sending $35.00 to:
-
- Phillip E. Brown
- 834 Bahama Drive
- Tallahassee, FL 32311 (U.S.A.)
-
- The registered user receives the most recent update to all programs and will
- be notified of all major updates. A $15.00 fee is required for future updates.
- You need not order every update that is announced. All updates are cumulative
- so if you skip one, you will get all of its enhancements with any order for a
- subsequent update.
-
- Users outside the U.S. should make all payments with international money
- orders or with bank checks, in U.S. dollars, drawn against a bank with a
- branch address in the U.S. At this time there is no additional fee for
- air mail postage to locations outside the U.S.
-
- Please specify whether you want 5 1/4" or 3 1/2" diskettes.
