  4. GOVDOX is SHAREWARE. You can use GOVDOX for a 30 day evaluation period to
  5. see if it meets your needs for a US Government Documents check-in package.
  6. After 30 days you must either register (see REGISTER.DOC) or discontinue use.

  10. If you've been using a version of GOVDOX between 7.0 and 8.0, be sure to
  11. create a GIX file of your current database before installing this version.
  12. The file structure has been changed!  Read GOVDOX.DOC, particularly the
  13. section on GOVDOX.INI to see how GOVDOX now handles onscreen display
  14. text for the location and media-type field(s).

  18. GD.EXE       = the program
  19. GOVDOX.DOC   = the documentation
  20. GOVDOX.INI   = ASCII file that controls display text for location and
  21.                media type fields.
  22. MAKEINI.EXE  = utility program for creating GOVDOX.INI. Type MAKEINI
  23.                at the DOS prompt to activate the program, then
  24.                follow the onscreen instructions.
  25. GOVDOX.HLP   = ASCII file that display's when I is pressed on GOVDOX
  26.                main menu
  27. REGISTER.DOC = Explains registration. Print and mail this form.
  28. GDRX.EXE     = database repair/rebuild utility
  29. DEMO.DAT     = small sample database
  30. DEMO.IX      = index file for small sample database

  32. Quickstart?  Copy all files to a subdirectory (e.g., C:\GOVDOX). Type
  33. GD to start the program. You'll be using the DEMO database.  Run
  34. through a few options with that sample file, then print out and
  35. read GOVDOX.DOC (an ASCII file).

  37. Run MAKEINI to assign your location text and media type text to
  38. various codes (the codes are all you enter in your GOVDOX records).

  42. must create a GIX file of your current database before preceeding!
