  156.      This recipe is from my friend Ayalla.  It makes a heavy, but
  157.      moist, loaf of banana bread.

  159. INGREDIENTS (1 loaf)
  160.      3         very ripe bananas
  161.      1 cup     sugar
  162.      1/2 cup   shortening (butter)
  163.      2         eggs
  164.      3 Tbsp    yoghurt or sour cream
  165.      2 cups    flour
  166.      1 tsp     baking soda
  167.      1 cup     chopped walnuts
  168.                rum, vanilla, or amaretto (optional)

  171. PROCEDURE
  172.           (1)  Preheat the oven to 350 deg. F.  Cream  the  shor-
  173.                tening and sugar.
  174.  
  175.           (2)  Mix in the bananas.
  176.  
  177.           (3)  Mix in the remaining ingredients.

  179.           (4)  Pour into a greased loaf pan.
  180.  
  181.           (5)  Bake 1 hour 15-20 minutes at 350 deg. F.

  183. NOTES
  184.      If you use more than 3 normal-size bananas, I  suggest  that
  185.      you  lower the oven temperature and cook for a while longer.
  186.      Otherwise, the crust comes out almost overcooked  while  the
  187.      middle remains moist and almost undercooked.
