Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor Demo, EMEA Commercial Screensaver, March 2003
** This demo has been designed to run only on an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4
processor-based PC. This program has been tested on systems with similar
specifications to those that will be found in the retail environment;
however, software preloaded by system manufacturers could affect
performance or functionality.

INTEL SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT
IMPORTANT: By loading this software, you agree to the terms of this
agreement. Do not load this software until you have carefully read
and agreed to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree
to the terms of this agreement, promptly return the package.
LICENSE: Intel grants you the right to copy the software and materials
("Materials") onto a single computer for your internal use through December
2003. You will not use, copy, modify, sell or transfer any part of the
Materials except as provided in this Agreement. You may use the software
(the "Software") only on Pentium(R) 4 processor-based computer systems.
Other rights may be granted to you in writing or incorporated elsewhere in
the Materials.
RESTRICTIONS: Except as specifically permitted in writing, you may not:
1. Copy the Materials except as provided in this Agreement or elsewhere by
Intel.
2. Sublicense or permit simultaneous use of the Materials by more than one
user.
3. Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software.
Upon termination of this agreement at the end of December 2003, you must
return all copies of this CD to Intel or destroy all copies then in your
possession.
OWNERSHIP AND COPYRIGHT OF MATERIALS: Title to the Materials and all
copies thereof remain with Intel or its suppliers. The Materials are
copyrighted and are protected by United States copyright laws and
international treaty provisions. You will not remove the copyright
notice from the Materials. You agree to prevent any unauthorized copying
of the Materials. Except as expressly provided herein, Intel does not
grant any express or implied right to you under Intel patents, copyrights,
trademarks, or trade secret information.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: THE MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF ANY KIND INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY,
OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT SHALL INTEL OR ITS
SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT
LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF
INFORMATION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE MATERIALS,
EVEN IF INTEL HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
BECAUSE SOME JURISDICTIONS PROHIBIT THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF
LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE ABOVE LIMITATION
MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS: The Materials and documentation are
provided with "RESTRICTED RIGHTS." Use, duplication, or disclosure by the
Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in FAR52.227-14 and
DFAR252.227-7013 et seq. or its successor. Use of the Materials by the
Government constitutes acknowledgment of Intel's proprietary rights in them.
APPLICABLE LAWS: Any claim arising under or relating to this Agreement
shall be governed by the internal substantive laws of the State of Delaware
or federal courts located in Delaware, without regard to principles of
conflict of laws. You may not export the Materials in violation of U.S.A.
export laws and regulations.
SYSTEM CONFIGURATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 processor
- 128 MB RAM
- SVGA Monitor
- Microsoft* Windows* XP Home Edition
- 100 MB hard drive space available
- Windows-compatible CD-ROM drive
- Windows-compatible mouse or other pointing device
- Windows-compatible 16-bit sound card
DEMO INSTALLATION:
NOTES ON INSTALLING ON WINDOWS* XP SYSTEMS:
- The demo must be installed (and uninstalled from a user account that
has administrative privileges (e.g., the Owner account).
1. Remove any older Intel Demos by following the instructions in the
DEMO REMOVAL section below.
2. Uninstall any system security application (such as Full Armor* or
WinShield*) that may be installed and exit any other applications that
may be running.
3. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive.
4. Click on the START button at the bottom of the screen and select
the RUN command from the menu.
5. Type <CD-ROM drive letter>:\Install (e.g. D:\Install) and select OK.
6. Follow on-screen instructions:
7. After all of the demo components have been installed, you will be
prompted to restart Windows.
8. See the USING THE DEMO section below for details on operating the demo.
DEMO REMOVAL:
** Any system security features provided by the demo will be disabled.
It is highly recommended that after removing the demo from a system, the
OEM restore CD is used to reset the system back to its original state.
To remove the demo, proceed as described below:
1. Exit the demo if it is running.
2. Click the START button.
3. Select MY COMPUTER from the menu.
4. Go to the INTELSSV folder on the C: drive (Note: this is the default drive
and directory for the demo. Enter the directory you chose when the demo was
installed).
5. Click on the file called UNINSTAL.EXE and select OK
6. Follow instructions on screen.
To remove any older Intel demos proceed as follows:
1. Exit the older demo if it is running.
2. Click the START button.
3. Select MY COMPUTER from the menu.
4. Go to the "INTELDEMO" folder on the C: drive (Note: the name of the
directory will vary depending on which Demo is currently installed on the PC.
For example, the Demo directory may be called INTELSPR, or INTELWIN, etc.
Enter the directory you chose when the demo was installed).
5. Click on the file called UNINSTAL.EXE and select OK
6. Follow instructions on screen.
USING THE DEMO:
To start the Intel demo, double-click on the "Pentium(R) 4 Processor
Demo" icon in the Intel Demos folder.
To exit the demo, type ESC-I (press the <Esc> key and then the letter I)
and enter the demo password (if necessary). Or, if during the installation
of the demo you chose to include an Exit Demo Icon, then click on this icon
which appears in the upper right-hand corner of the demo interface and
enter the demo password (if necessary).
SHORTCUT KEYS:
ESC-H To bring up the Help menu.
This shows all the possible key commands and allows
the sales associate to exit the demo, enable or
disable sound, and adjust audio volume levels.
ESC-P To select/change the password.
This password is used when exiting or uninstalling the
Demo.
ESC-I To exit the demo.
ESC-A To adjust the demo's volume level.
ESC-N To turn audio on/off.
ESC-D To display the demo version.
OTHER DEMO FEATURES:
A volume control icon is available on the demo interface. This icon
allows the demo user to adjust the demo volume.
An Exit Demo icon is also available for inclusion on the demo interface
if selected during the demo installation.
SYSTEM SECURITY FEATURES:
As mentioned above, the demo provides extensive system security measures to
prevent unwanted tampering with the PC's software and configuration.

This feature confirms that some of the demo files (.AVI, .WAV, etc.)
are valid each time the demo is launched. If something has happened
to any of these files, the Demo will be prevented from running.
