  8. "          *  caring for my young son. I feel he is all I have   *"
  9. "          *  left now. I think Alexandria, Scott, and even our  *"
  10. "          *  maid Rosa blames me for Catherine's death. I do    *"
  11. "          *  not blame them for this, for I know it is true.    *"
  12. "          *  If I had been here when the baby was born I know   *"
  13. "          *  I could have delivered him and preserved           *"
  14. "          *  Catherine's life as well. I have sent Scott off    *"
  15. "          *  to military school. He needs guidance and support  *"
  16. "          *  from someone he can respect; I know I can no longer*"
  17. "          *  be that person. It is better for everyone that I   *"
  18. "          *  work here alone in my laboratory, away from all of *"
  19. "          *  the pain that I have caused. At least my           *"
