Labels: text | screenshot | font OCR: JAGUAR ATTACKING A HORSE UNGLE SCENES of powerful animals in luxuriant vegetation are a recurring theme in the works of the French artist Henri Rousseau (1844-1910). Several of his paintings, including Tiger Attacking a Bujfalo and The Tiger Hunt, feature big cats. It is known that Rousseau drew inspiration for his themes from the book Betes Sauvages (Wild Beasts). However, in the case of Jaguar Attacking a Horse he may have been drawing on more personal experience, since it is thought that he served with the French army in Mexico, where jaguars are to be found.
