The skull has to support the many muscles that the cat needs to give it the power to grasp and kill animals, and to bite through bones when feeding. The tiger, like all cats, does not have any teeth for chewing food; it tears off and swallows large chunks of flesh when eating, and so has fewer teeth than many other animals such as dogs or humans.
