u EXPERTS PREDICT MASSIVE POWER
FLUCTUATIONS IN AMERICA'S
CITY OF LIGHTS
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Inside sources at
the Boulder Dam and HydroElectric
Complex revealed yesterday a plot
uncovered by HomeTown Security that
will dim billions of bulbs on July
25-26, 2005.
A secret, almost forgotten group
of Techno-Luddites will be meeting in
Sin City on those two days, firing up
their antiquated contraptions and
swapping software on floppy disks --
the old kind that really flop! These
ancient computers, according to
experts, are comparable to the one
called ENIAC, which was blamed for
brown-outs in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, during the Second World
War.
The gathering is known by the code
name CommVEX 2005, and promises to be
the first such "expo" west of the
Mississippi River in over a decade.
Authorities say that there is really
nothing Las Vegas residents can do
about it, except to repeatedly save
any documents on which they are
working on their PCs and Macs.
