ROBERT BERNARDO REPORTS
by Robert Bernardo
Hello, C= friends,
I'd like to publicly thank Randy
Abel, president of San Jose,
California's TOGA (The Other Group of
Amigoids), for letting me attend his
club's meeting last Saturday. It was
my second time to visit his club, and
though primarily an Amiga group, they
appreciate Commodore 8-bits.
Not only did Randy show off the
Amiga disks-of- the-month he regularly
makes, he also demonstrated his
modified X-Box game console which
accepted a PC keyboard, was fitted
with a 120 gig hard drive, and ran
various game console and computer
emulators, including Commodore and
Amiga. Using Frodo and VICE, he
demonstrated several Commodore games
running off the X-Box (my favorite...
Star Trek: Strategic Operations
Simulator, of course!)
Then he brought out the nifty
GamePark, a GameBoy look-alike from
South Korea. The GamePark can be made
to emulate many game consoles and
computer platforms, too. With a 128
meg SmartMedia card loaded into the
GamePark's slot, he had Frodo and
about a thousand C= games (.D64
images) readily available on this
handheld device.
Needless to say, the club members
and I were very impressed! Talk ranged
from AmigaOne board design to the
CommodoreOne/C-One to Commodore 8-bits
to the December Micro-Palooza C=
Party.
It was well-worth the 3-hour drive
to the San Jose area.
Truly,
Robert Bernardo

[DAVE'S NOTE:] Robert emails reports
of his Commodorian Journeys, and I
figured we needed to share them with
you. Robert is the guy who took my
mention of being in Portland, OR, over
Christmas break and turned it into the
Micro-Palooza!
