  6.     Several Home Tower users have
  7. asked for some advice on how to
  8. include more issues of LOADSTAR on the
  9. Tower.
  10.  
  11.     For various reasons, 64HDriver --
  12. the browser program for the Home Tower
  13. -- was limited to accessing issues 1
  14. through 199. Changing the innards of
  15. the program is not for the faint
  16. hearted, which I am right now! But
  17. there is another way to quickly access
  18. issues of LOADSTAR. (I just stopped
  19. writing this to check it out. The
  20. process is incredibly [easy]!)
  21.  
  22. 1. Boot up the Home Tower and
  23.    64HDriver (LOAD"64:*",15 <RETURN>
  24.    and <RUN>).
  25.  
  26. 2. Navigate to the subdirectory where
  27.    you want to keep your LOADSTARS.
  28.  
  29. 3. Put your LOADSTAR disk in the Home
  30.    Tower's 3.5 inch drive. Press <BACK
  31.    ARROW> and choose "1581". Choose
  32.    "1581 > D81". Type in a name (LS###
  33.    would do) and press <RETURN>.
  34.    1581Copy will put the issue on your
  35.    hard disk.
  36.  
  37. 4. Put the Right Menu cursor on the
  38.    LOADSTAR D81 file and press
  39.    <RETURN>.
  40.  
  41. You should now see the LOADSTAR
  42. Directory. The next part is the magic!
  43.  
  44. 5. Press <BACK ARROW>, move the Left
  45.    Menu cursor down to "Send C=DOS"
  46.    and press <RETURN>.
  47.  
  48. 6. We will assume the issue is LS 200.
  49.    Type:

  51.                 ap200
  52.  
  53.    and press <RETURN>.
  54.  
  55. 7. Now, when you want to get to LS 200
  56.    quickly, choose "Send C=DOS", type:
  57.  
  58.                 cp200
  59.  
  60.    and press <RETURN>.
  61.  
  62.     To start the issue, choose "START"
  63. and press <Shift-RETURN><Y>.
  64.  
  65.     The "partition" function of 64HDD
  66. can use numbers up to 899. 64HDriver
  67. has Partitions from 2 to 63. And
  68. the system uses 1, 64, 256, and 900+.
  69. You can use all the rest!
  70.  
  71.     For a complete LOADSTAR Library,
  72. copy the latest version (on LS 210)
  73. and the "lsl.*" files to a handy place
  74. on your hard drive. Perhaps you will
  75. want to give it a partition number of
  76. 199. Your choice.
  77.  
  78.     Once you are connected to the Home
  79. Tower, you can call up a "partitioned"
  80. issue in immediate mode. Type:

  82.        OPEN1,[dv],15,"cp[n]":close1
  83.  
  84.  where [dv] is the Tower device,
  85.  and [n] is the partition number.
  86.  Then
  87.              LOAD"*",dv,1
  88.
