  8.     There's nothing so sad as a
  9. love-starved turtle. If only Burt, the
  10. ladder-building terrapin at the bottom
  11. left of the screen, could reach
  12. Myrtle, the turtle of his dreams who
  13. has been kidnapped and placed on a
  14. shelf, there would be bliss in the
  15. kingdom of Tortuga. Until then, poor
  16. Burt is just a mere shell of a turtle.
  17.  
  18.     You can help him rescue the fair
  19. Myrtle by using a joystick in Port
  20. #2.
  21.  
  22.     When the game begins, choose the
  23. speed you want to play TURTLE RESCUE.
  24. 1 is the slowest and 3 is almost
  25. impossibly fast.
  26.  
  27.     You can pick up a ladder rung by
  28. simply moving Burt to the far left
  29. side of the screen. Then you need to
  30. get Burt over to the right side
  31. without any of the spiders stealing
  32. the rung. Watch out for the acid
  33. rain! Just one drop of this deadly
  34. peril from the sky will end Burt's
  35. life.

  37.     There are obstacles in your path.
  38. They come and go and there's not much
  39. you can do about them.
  40.  
  41.     When you've placed Burt's tenth
  42. rung, the two loveturtles get
  43. together for a quick kiss, then, in
  44. true Tortugan fashion, it's time to
  45. start all over again.
  46.  
  47.     You can quit in between games by
  48. pressing Q, but you'll have to reboot
  49. LOADSTAR.
  50.  
  51.     Please do your best for Burt and
  52. Myrtle Turtle; a horny exo-skeleton
  53. is a terrible thing to leave
  54. unrequited.
