  7.     All month long, I searched for a
  8. disk Ken sent me entitled "Submit for
  9. February." It is February, and I knew
  10. I [had] to get some of this submission
  11. onto this issue.

  13.     But I continued to put together
  14. #211. As you can see, it is filled to
  15. the brim with remarkable programs and
  16. unique pieces of entertainment. Lee
  17. Novak's disk arrived, and I just had
  18. room to put in the 2002 Preview. Done!
  19.  
  20.     Then, at the very last moment, I
  21. found Ken's disk. On it was a SAM
  22. reading of the Gettysburg Address, a
  23. graphic of the Lincoln Memorial, and
  24. several other features. Ken wrote that
  25. he wanted to get the reading and the
  26. graphic to work together, but found
  27. too many memory conflicts.

  29.     So I took a crack at it. The
  30. routines, though not the code itself,
  31. came from MediaMeister. But the SAM
  32. reader is one [big] memory gobbler! I
  33. pushed and shoved and cheated a little
  34. to get it all together.

  38. States!
