  9.     The lady I know lost a son, not a
  10. daughter in the WTC disaster. I am
  11. looking at a picture on a page from
  12. the October 27th New York Daily News
  13. with this caption:

  17. carried by mother, Sally, at St.
  18. Patrick's Cathedral Mass. Regenhard
  19. may have been FDNY's youngest victim

  22.     No, I am not near enough to have
  23. the fumes of the disaster, though my
  24. elder son works about a mile from
  25. "Ground Zero" and he probably had the
  26. fumes and soot for awhile.

  28.     For awhile the papers carried a
  29. tally of the bodies recovered: at
  30. last count about 600 - a little over
  31. 10% - but lately no tally has been
  32. published,

  40.  My apologies for getting the facts
  41. messed up. Our hearts and prayers go
  42. out to the Regenhards and all the
  43. families that grieve today because of
  44. the horrid attacks. I also feel sorrow
  45. for families in Afghanistan and
  46. elsewhere whose lives have been torn
  47. asunder by our merciless retaliation.
  48. And yet, how else is the United States
  49. to respond to such vicious treachery?

  58.     Good news! The replacement Issue
  59. #206 came and appears to work fine. On
  60. Issue #207, the READ IT for About Ring
  61. Ware keeps stating words to the effect
  62. that "Side One not found." Since this
  63. is a 1581 disk with only Side 1, I
  64. wonder if the problem is in the SEQ
  65. file "Files on Side 1".

  67.     Secondly, on #207, "Ant Wars"
  68. locks up while "thinking" during level
  69. 2. An info fix as in the past would be
  70. welcome.

  84.     Thank you for the kind words. The
  85. problem with the READ IT file for
  86. About Ring Ware is not in the "Files
  87. on Side 1" file. That file is used by
  88. the Copy It feature and evidently
  89. doesn't do anything for Reading or
  90. Running programs. The problem is in
  91. the "FEATURES" file -- an ordinary
  92. Edstar file that lists the Menu
  93. items, the Comment Bar comments, and
  94. the filename to load. In FEATURES, I
  95. listed the file as ABOUT RINGWARE,
  96. but on the directory it became just
  97. "ABOUT". You can either
  98.  
  99.  1. Use Edstar or Mr.Edstar to edit
  100. FEATURES to look for "about", or
  101.  
  102.  2. Rename "ABOUT" to "ABOUT
  103. RINGWARE".

  105.     The Ant Wars lock-up happens
  106. sometimes. The code is too complex
  107. for me to decipher it. Other times it
  108. works just fine. If anyone out there
  109. wants to get in there and figure it
  110. out, we could use a real fix on this.
  111. "ANT WARS.PKD" is an all Basic
  112. program that has been linked and
  113. packed with Lee Novak's Linker and
  114. Packer. It can be dissolved with
  115. Dissolver. All three of these
  116. utilities are available on LS #205.
