  7.     I am sitting at my sister's dining
  8. room table, typing this article on my
  9. P100 laptop -- running VICE 1.7. The
  10. C-64 is now portable. Hot Dog! We came
  11. down here to Albuquerque because my
  12. mother just got out of the hospital.
  13. Fortunately, Albuquerque is a fairly
  14. easy 6 hour drive from Holly.
  15.  
  16.     I need to say this again -- Sheri
  17. and I dearly love putting out LOADSTAR
  18. and have no intention of quitting for
  19. at least another couple of years. Many
  20. of you are subscribed through issue
  21. 211. Watch for specials for those who
  22. get their renewals in early!

  24.     In 2002, we will be taking over
  25. the 1541 production and shipping. This
  26. year, Fender and Judi have handled
  27. that part of the business, which
  28. really helped as we found our "C=
  29. legs!"
  30.  
  31.     But about this issue. The results
  32. of the 2001 MiniGame Competition are
  33. in. This was a challenge for 8-bit
  34. computer programmers (on C-64, Amstrad
  35. CPC, Spectrum, Atari) to write games
  36. in just 512 bytes or 2048 bytes. We
  37. have included the C-64 winners here.
  38. It really takes some programming savvy
  39. to do so much with so little.

  41.     A decade ago, Arndt Dettke of
  42. Germany created a powerful graphics
  43. processor program called GoDot, which
  44. was a great hit in Europe. However, it
  45. did not catch on well here on our side
  46. of the pond. So Arndt decided to put
  47. the whole thing out as Free Ware. I
  48. wrote him for permission to publish
  49. GoDot on LOADSTAR, and he was
  50. graciously excited. Or excitedly
  51. gracious. Anyway, we have GoDot (or a
  52. goodly part thereof) Wraptored up on
  53. Side 4, with plenty of documentation.
