Take a green pepper remove the stem, seeds, and chop. Add some oil to a large skillet. Fry the rice until it is pale gold. Add the garlic, green pepper, ham, tomatoes, water, thyme, and seasoning. Bring to a boil, cover tightly, and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the rice is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
