BIORHYTHM 64
by
Robert Kupfer
COMMODORE MICROCOMPUTERS MAGAZINE
September/October, 1986
**************************************
NOTE: BIORYHTHM 64's print routine was
designed specifically for the
Commodore MPS-801 printer. If you
have a different printer, the routine
might not work properly unless you
modify it. Consult Kupfer's Commodore
magazine article and your printer
manual for more information.

We all know that on some days, we
feel better than we do on others.
What makes one day better than
another? Some people believe that our
physical well-being, emotional moods,
and even mental alertness are affected
by natural cycles called "biorhythms".
According to theory, these cycles
can be measured throughout your life.
That is exactly what BIORHYTHM 64
does. You enter the date of your
birth, then the time frame you wish to
consider. The program then plots
where each day falls in the cycle.
There are three different cycles
that you can plot: the "physical"
cycle, the emotional or "sensitivity"
cycle, and the "intellectual" cycle.
THE PHYSICAL CYCLE
------------------
The physical cycle affects your
strength, energy, and stamina. The
cycle is 23 days long. In the first
11 1/2 days days of the cycle,
theorists maintain that you should
have a great deal of energy.
BIORHYTHM 64's graph plots this
"upward" portion of the cycle to the
right of a vertical line.
In the second part of the cycle,
plotted left of the vertical line,
the body rests and recharges. Kupfer
is quick to point out that this
"downward" portion of the cycle is not
necessarily bad.
Problems occur, however, when you
make the transition between the
"upward" and "downward" part of the
cycle. These days, plotted near the
vertical line, are called "critical"
days-- the days when you're likely to
feel out of kilter. Critical days
occur in all three cycles.
THE SENSITIVITY CYCLE
---------------------
The sensitivity cycle affects your
moods, creativity, and sexuality.
The cycle lasts for 30 days, with
critical days at Day 1 and Day 15,
when the sensitivity cycle begins its
downward turn.
THE INTELLECTUAL CYCLE
----------------------
The intellectual cycle is said to
affect your alertness and memory. It
lasts 33 days, with critical days at
Day 1 and Day 16.
A FINAL NOTE
------------
Whether or not you believe in
biorhythms, why not check the program
out for yourself? For a few days,
make a note of what kind of day you
had. Later, you can run the program
and see if there was any correlation
between your biorhythm chart and your
life.
