  2.              SnoopDos 3.0 -- System and application monitor

  6. SnoopDos is a utility that allows you to monitor a variety of system
  7. operations carried out by programs on your Amiga. This includes what
  8. files a program is trying to open, what fonts, libraries, devices and
  9. environment variables it is looking for, and so on.
  10.  
  11. To run SnoopDos, just double-click on the icon or type RUN SNOOPDOS at
  12. the Shell prompt. Most of the features are fairly obvious, but if you
  13. get stuck, you can press the HELP key to access AmigaGuide help.
  14.  
  15. Here's a quick summary of the most important new features in this version:

  17.    o   History buffer to record all output that scrolls off the window
  18.    o   Full GUI to provide easy access to all features
  19.    o   Commodity support to allow running in the background
  20.    o   Clipboard support to make it easy to copy output into your editor
  21.    o   Support for monitoring many new functions (e.g. Tooltypes + ARexx)
  22.    o   Support for monitoring programs compiled with GNU C
  23.    o   User-definable output format with drag & drop format editor
  24.    o   DOS packet monitor for device driver writers
  25.    o   Full ARexx interface

  28. distribution conditions. If you want to print out that file for offline
  29. reference, I recommend the utility AG2TXT by Jason R. Hulance. You can find
  30. this on Aminet as text/hyper/ag2txt.lzh.

  32. In the past, certain people have released modified copies of SnoopDos which
  33. contain trojan horses or other atrocities. Starting with version 3.0, all
  34. versions of the SnoopDos executable will be signed using PGP (Pretty Good
  35. Privacy). If you have my public PGP key, you can use it to ensure that your
  36. copy of SnoopDos has not been modified by a third party.

  39. matches the executable, first ensure that you have added my PGP key to your
  40. public key ring, and then type:

  46. you may need to take.
