==============================
Updated on:
7th of February, 1994
Maintained by:

1. Does NetBSD support my device?
This section lists all the hardware-devices, which are known to
work or NOT to work with NetBSD (see comments).
IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE HELP TO UPDATE THIS LIST BY PROVIDING
COMMENTS AND NEW INFO. IN RETURN, I WILL POST UPDATES AND TRY TO MAKE
THE LIST AVAILABLE TO ANYONE INTERESTED.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: This list is not guaranteed to be 100%
correct.
1.1. Supported Harddisks
Currently, only SCSI controllers are supported, but support for
IDE- or AT-drives is being worked on.
If your harddisk is connected via SCSI, please report if it works
in both, async and sync-mode.
Note that the comments are left out, if the device works fine and
reliable!
Name: Conner CP3500 (-540MB-3.5 Rev 3236)
Capacity: 540MB
Interface: SCSI-2
Hostadapter: Commodore A2091
Informant: vervoorn@dutiws.twi.tudelft.nl
Comments: A friend of mine, Ron Klinkien, uses this drive. Ron: "No
problems whatsoever; works excellent with NetBSD!"
Name: DEC DSP3105
Capacity: 1 GB
Interface: SCSI-1
Hostadapter: A3000-intern
Informant: mtk@eunet.ch
Name: DEC DSP3053LS

Hostadapter: GVP HC8+ Series II
Informant: vervoorn@dutiws.twi.tudelft.nl
Comments: Worked nice, though a bit slow on my Series 2 in an
A4000/040, but I'm sure that was the fault of the
GVP+A4000 combination. I had some mechanical problems
with my particular drive (some guys have all the bad
luck :() and exchanged it, while I was at it, for it's
bigger brother.
Name: DEC DSP3133LS

Interface: Fast-SCSI-2 (but I haven't tested it with that yet)
Hostadapter: GVP HC8+ Series II
Informant: vervoorn@dutiws.twi.tudelft.nl
Comments: Works nice, though a bit slow on my Series 2 in an
A4000/040, but I'm sure that's the fault of the
GVP+A4000 combination. Where is the NetBSD driver for a
Fast-SCSI-2 board like the Fastlane!?

"Works only if I disable Sync Mode Transfer Requests on
drive (with dipswitch), binpatching doesn't seem to do
the trick. (yet), any ideas?"
Name: IBM 0661-371
Capacity: 320MB
Interface: SCSI-2
Hostadapter: Commodore A2091
Informant: vervoorn@dutiws.twi.tudelft.nl
Comments: A friend of mine, Ron Klinkien, used this drive for quite

Approx Cost: ~1050 DM (german marks - internal)
Interface: SCSI
Hostadapter: A3000 internal
Informant: Marquart.C.Fanz@zfe.siemens.de
Comments: Tape drive does not function with standard NETBSD
kernel, because of the mode select commmand in file
sys/arch/amiga/dev/st.c. The drive is set to SCSI-1
with SCSI-2 response data format on default and does
not accept the mode selcet command in the ..init (?)
function.
Comment out the mode select call will do it for NETBSD
because the drive automatically recognize the size of
the tape cartridge. I am using 150/250 tape cartridges
with NETBSD. Only 'mt' doesn't work (unknown type 15)
i.e. density 0x0F QIC-320/525. I am working on the
correct mode select for this drive (and for general
tape setup for ANSI X3.131-1986 (SCSI-1) and SCSI-2
(Revision 10k) when I find the time.
SCSI-2 might go, but because WANGTEK has switched to
new ACA (advanced common architecture, i.e. no SCSI
select jumper any more) I don't know how to switch to
SCSI-2.
Name: Wangtek 6200-HS DAT Streamer
Capacity: 2 GB
Interface: SCSI-2
Hostadapter: A3000-internal
Informant: heitmann@crunch.ikp.physik.th-darmstadt.de
Comments: Works with the Wangtek 5099ES driver. Either recompile or
patch vmunix with sed 's/5099ES/6200-H/g' Supports sync
transfers
1.3. Ethernet-Card
The origional ethernet-card from Commodore, A2065 aka
Amistar-Board and the LanRover from ASDG are known to work. Reported
by markus@TechFak.Uni-Bielefeld.de and
stefanb@lurker.dfv.rwth-aachen.de.
