- | I have ftp'ed most of the new files out there and have noticed that a
- |few problems (concerns) occured when unpacking. In the various tar files I
- |received warnings as follows:
- |
- | Cannot create link file or directory exist!
- | File (tar, compress, gzip, mount-????, init) busy cannot extract!
- | Could not create directory: it exists!
- |
- | Also, I received warnings about files existing! But feel that I would
- |prefered that the older files would have just been overwritten.
- |
- | Something else, I was using my /opt directory for my transfer area and
- |this wasn't formated. Could this have been creating any of my above problems
- |with tar. Perhaps something was looking to put files on the /opt directory.
-
- No, I think this has to do with files that are executing at the time
- you do the install. So things like sh, mount, init, etc will have
- been executed and the file will be 'busy'. I don't know what the workaround
- is other than renaming the files you cannot install and then try re-installing
- them.
-
- Anyone else have an idea?
