- I've been looking at equipping my 1200 for use with netbsd, and was looking
- for some advice for what hardware to purchase :-) Speedwise how would NetBSD
- be on a 33Mhz '030, or is a 50Mhz a great boon and definately worth the money?
-
- Also, is anybody working on a driver for the IDE controller in the 1200/4000,
- or should i spend some extra money for a SCSI controller. (Would I really
- be in a better position for driver support?)
-
- YAQ, is anybody looking at having X-Windows or even the shell run in a 31Khz
- mode rather than PAL or NTSC interlaced? :-) How hard would such an addition
- be?
-
- How would NetBSD react to PCMCIA devices? They would need a special driver I
- take it?
-
- And, finally, can 4megs fast/2megs chip RAM run NetBSD, or is 8megs really
- needed to be of any use?
-
- I've probably forgotten a few things along the way, but that's the basics <g>
-
- Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
-
- (And yes, I considered buying a second-hand 3000, but they aren't all that
- common, and by the time i got it equipped it would be well beyond my price
- range)
