  1. One question: Why has no one proposed a compressed filesystem?

  3. That is, something like Stacker or Doublespace for MessyDrugs.  Simply
  4. compress the disk blocks themselves.  This can be implemented as a new
  5. block device that sits between the filesystem and the raw disk.

  7. I would be willing to run a compressed filesystem for my system binaries.
  8. I think zlibc is a gross hack.  I am probably not alone.

  10. BTW, if I built cp with zlibc, then what does
