  2. Sounds to me like you had set the date before installing the new binaries
  3. and the symlink from /etc/localtime.  Unless I'm mistaken, you're dealing
  4. with raw GMT time at that point, so when zoneinfo/Australia/North kicked in,
  5. it took what it thought was GMT time in your system clock (which was actually
  6. Australia time) and offset it to what it thought should be Australia time
  7. (which is now too much of an offset).
