- Ok, back from holidays (from Switzerland) and now
- a new try on the synchronous scsi (508 didn't work
- on my a3000 proto scsi & Quantum LP105S and PD425S).
-
- After the cursor patch to the sources and fetching
- the missing files from sun-lamp I got bootable kernel.
- But at boot time system didn't find root partition :-(
- Disks were recognised (the identification strings
- were print to console) and output claimed that disks were
- at that point synchronous.
- But apparently not, since no suitable root were found.
- I had to binpatch the _inhibit_sync for my drives and
- after that boot proceeded and all works fine.
-
- I'll enable the _scsi_debug (and what was the other)
- after this session and report what it dumps.
- It is a bit tough process, since at that point
- nothing is written to system logs (as there is no
- disk yet ;-) and you have to write down all that mess :-(
