  1. Ok, back from holidays (from Switzerland) and now
  2. a new try on the synchronous scsi (508 didn't work
  3. on my a3000 proto scsi & Quantum LP105S and PD425S).

  5. After the cursor patch to the sources and fetching
  6. the missing files from sun-lamp I got bootable kernel.
  7. But at boot time system didn't find root partition :-(
  8. Disks were recognised (the identification strings
  9. were print to console) and output claimed that disks were
  10. at that point synchronous.
  11. But apparently not, since no suitable root were found.
  12. I had to binpatch the _inhibit_sync for my drives and
  13. after that boot proceeded and all works fine.

  15. I'll enable the _scsi_debug (and what was the other)
  16. after this session and report what it dumps.
  17. It is a bit tough process, since at that point
  18. nothing is written to system logs (as there is no
  19. disk yet ;-) and you have to write down all that mess :-(
