  16. I have had exactly the same problem.  My configuration:

  18. A2500/30, 1MB Chip, 4MB Fast, and a Fujitsu M2624SA at id 0 with bsd
  19. on it.

  21. The problem apparently has something to do with enabling the MMU. But
  22. I don't know what.  I originally thought there was some problem with
  23. the new ZORROII memory map on A2000 class machines.  That does not
  24. appear to be the problem.  Then I thought that there was some problem
  25. copying the 900+KB kernels in and out of Chip RAM, so I customized the
  26. kernel down by ~100K.  That didn't work either.

  28. Now for theory #3: Has anyone sucessfully booted a kernel later than
  29. #390 on a machine with 4MB or less of *contiguous* fast RAM?
