- Just wanted to report that vmunix.516 has fixed the sync problem for me
- too. 508 stopped with "no suitable root found" but 516 boots fine. Much
- quicker, too, I'm impressed!
-
- I did get some errors I didn't get before, however -- when I go into
- multiuser mode, I get something like "error in fstab, wrong fs type" (can't
- remember exactly). This pops up around 6-10 times during the boot
- sequence, but my filesystems are mounted properly when I login. My fstab
- file is basically:
-
- /dev/sd1a ufs /
- /dev/sd1b mfs /tmp
- /dev/sd1d ufs /usr
- /dev/sd1e ufs /home
-
- I've got a 240MB LPS Quantum on unit 1, and a 52MB LPS Quantum on unit 6,
- but I don't use the 52MB for BSD. All in an A3000, 4 MB fast RAM, nothing
- else special.
-
- I'll check out the errors in more detail when I get home.
-
- While I'm thinking about it, two questions:
- 1. How do you set up NetBSD to boot into multiuser mode?
- 2. Does NetBSD enable processor bursting to fast RAM? I've got
- static column RAM, and use 'cpu burst' under AmigaDos. I don't know how
- much of a speed improvement you actually get, but I was just curious.
-
- Thanks!
- Nathan
