  1. Just wanted to report that vmunix.516 has fixed the sync problem for me
  2. too.  508 stopped with "no suitable root found" but 516 boots fine.  Much
  3. quicker, too, I'm impressed!

  5. I did get some errors I didn't get before, however -- when I go into
  6. multiuser mode, I get something like "error in fstab, wrong fs type" (can't
  7. remember exactly).  This pops up around 6-10 times during the boot
  8. sequence, but my filesystems are mounted properly when I login.  My fstab
  9. file is basically:

  11. /dev/sd1a       ufs     /
  12. /dev/sd1b       mfs     /tmp
  13. /dev/sd1d       ufs     /usr
  14. /dev/sd1e       ufs     /home

  16. I've got a 240MB LPS Quantum on unit 1, and a 52MB LPS Quantum on unit 6,
  17. but I don't use the 52MB for BSD.  All in an A3000, 4 MB fast RAM, nothing
  18. else special.

  22. While I'm thinking about it, two questions:
  23.         1. How do you set up NetBSD to boot into multiuser mode?
  24.         2. Does NetBSD enable processor bursting to fast RAM?  I've got
  25. static column RAM, and use 'cpu burst' under AmigaDos.  I don't know how
  26. much of a speed improvement you actually get, but I was just curious.
