  3. perl-4.036.tar.gz contains a ready-to-install-version
  4. of the Larry Wall's 'practical extraction and report language'
  5. (perl) compiled for NetBSD/Amiga. The directories for msdos,
  6. atarist and os/2 have been deleted; full source is available 
  7. on prep.ai.mit.edu...
  8.  
  9. To install, unpack it in a directory of you choice and do:

  11. % cd perl-4.036
  12. % su
  13. # ./perl installperl
  14.  
  15. That's it, you'll find perl installed unter /usr/local. If you
  16. don't like this, feel free to recompile. (You'll need two
  17. stub-routines for exp() and log(), as libm.a seems to be
  18. faulty...).

  20. By the way, perl bombs on the op/dbm-test, but I'v no idea why
  21. (buggy stat?) and as I've never used the db-routines I don't
  22. care, sorry! ;-)
