'Workbench Startup Manager' by Herbie van Staveren ⌐1994
V1.2, januari 1994
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
System requirements: Any Amiga running Workbench 2.0 or higher.
version: 1.2
status: freeware

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: Workbench Startup Manager (Wbsm) is a small utility that
offers a easy way to DEACTIVATE or ACTIVATE commodities or
other programs that are run from your WBStartup drawer.
Wbsm can be activated by holding down the LEFTMOUSEBUTTON
during boot up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation: You may put Wbsm in any directory other than
the WBStartup drawer.
When run from your user-startup script Wbsm will open its
interface only if the left mouse button is being pressed,
otherwhise it will continue with the script.
In other words; if you hold down the LEFTMOUSEBUTTON while
booting up, the Wbsm interface will pop up and you may
activate or de-activate any desired commodities.
Since the user-startup script is executed before the
programs in the WBStartup drawer are run, your selection
will be valid in that very session.
To achieve the above: simply add an entry for Wbsm to
your user-startup script.(Preferably the first entry, so
that you do not have to keep on holding down the mousebutton
while other entries are being processed first)
The 'Wbsm_FIX_user-startup' program adds/removes the entry
'Wbsm' to/from the user-startup script for you.
Make sure that AmigaDos knows where to find Wbsm.
******************************************************
* Easy install: *
* *
* 1. drag 'Wbsm' to your 'Workbench/system' direcory. *
* *
* 2. run the 'Wbsm_FIX_user-startup' program. *
* *
* 3. done! *
* *
*****************************************************
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run from CLI: If you want to execute WbsManager from CLI add the parameter
'POPUP' (no quotes), this way Wbsm won't check for a left
mouse button and startup right away.
or run from WB: Double-click on its icon
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How it works: Deactivated commodities are moved to a
'sys:wbstartup/disabled' drawer (wich will be created the
first time Wbsm is run) and moved back when being
activated.
NOTE: Wbsmanager1.0 users should first activate ALL commodities
using Wbsmanager1.0 before installing v1.2
