FileSearch v1.5. ⌐ 1991
(Public Domain)
Matthew Crowd.
Internet: cpmwc@marlin.jcu.edu.au
This program will search an AmigaDOS volume for a specified
file/file pattern. Time saving for Hard Drive owners wanting
to find a file/program quickly. The program was written using
Lattice C v5.02.
WildCards :
AmigaDOS wildcards aren't supported, `*' wildcards are.
Performing a Search :
Step 1. Select the Filename String Gadget, enter the required
file pattern.
eg. *.c, *.pic, shell*, *oadw*, etc....
Step 2. Select the Device String Gadget, enter the required
device. Or use the listed gadgets from the Panel.
eg. df0:, ram:, dh0:, etc....
Step 3. Hit the Go! button.
The search will be performed and whether or not any files
were found a status line will appear.
If your selected file pattern has more than 8 files found,
the WAIT pointer will change to the CONTINUE pointer, when
this happens just click on the CONTINUE gadget.
You may use the QUIT at *ANY* time. If you entered the
wrong hard drive partition by mistake or the file you have
been searching for has appeared in the table and it hasn't
finished searching, this is a quick way to end the search.
Tips:
When the program is run, the cursor will appear in the
"Filename" gadget, after editing this field pressing return
will take the cursor to the "device" gadget, again, once
edited and return has been pressed the search will begin.
So there is no necessary mouse interaction to begin the
search, only to end it.
