Playing Jigsaw 1.0.
-------------------
Upon running the program an introduction screen will appear.
After about 20 secs of introduction you'll be able to start
playing by clicking one of the mouse buttons. The original
Amos.Iff picture will replace the introduction screen and the
music will stop.
Using the Menus.
----------------
The game is menu driven. Two menus are available, "About" menu
and "Options" menu. The "about" menu just come to supply some
unimportant information such as an historic review of the
creation of towels and why we call ourselves Barbarian mind.
The more important menu is the "Options" menu.
a) Choose iff picture: This allows you to select an Iff picture
to jigsaw. The program can handle only 320x200 non-interlaced
pictures. Any other picture will load onto the screen but you
will not be able to play it.
b) Number of pieces: You may choose to play a 15,24,60 or 240
piece jigsaw. In my opinion, 240 pieces are impossible to solve :)
I wanna hear from people who've made it...
c) Play: After selecting the desired Iff picture and the number
of pieces choose this option to start playing. This option
will scramble the picture up.
d) Quit: Nothing to add....
Playing the Game
----------------
After you choose the "play" option, the screen will Scramble.
A 240 pieces jigsaw takes about 6 seconds to be created.
Playing the game is very simple. Place the mouse pointer on one
square and press the left button of the mouse. Then, select
another piece and those pieces will swap. Using this procedure
you have to rebuild the picture. Upon success, a congratulation
message will appear and you'll be able to start over again.
Good pictures and Bad Pictures...
---------------------------------
A good jigsaw is a one which doesn't contain two similar
pieces. Some pictures have "Dead Zones.", big areas which
contain the same pattern or color. When making a jigsaw puzzle
out of those, at least two pieces will look the same. Amos.iff
is a "Bad picture", since it got large areas with the same
pattern. The disk contains two other picture's which are "Good
pictures."
