OCR: MEMORY EXPANSIONS Fed up with % a meg of Memory. Want more Well if you do, then read on, as here are some well priced good quality memory ? expansions reviewed. Here at Dreamers we have 2 Amiga's which both have Zydec / meg upgrades. So I'll review the Zydec upgrade first. ZYDEC 1: MEG £39. 99 Without Clock £44.99 With Clock Zydec are an American company and the upgrade can be bought from any decent computer shop, in this country, at the prices stated. It has a strong base board, with good connectors and a disable switch, allowing you to turn off the memory when you wish. The board is small and fits into the trapdoor slot underneath the Amiga. Packaging is good and the instructions are very brief, infact the instructions consist of 1 page, although they give you detailed step by step instructions on how to fit the upgrade and set the clock. There is a message on the box that states that fitting the upgrade could void your warranty. This should be ignored as pushing any expansion unit into the trapdoor slot Overall it is cannot void your warranty of the computer. a very good upgrade unit and at a reasonable price. ASHCOM % MEG £34.50 Without Clock £39.50 With Clock Again, this is a small good quality board, with a disable switch. Like the Zydec it uses 4 ram chips, which enable the companies to cut down the prices and less chips means less components to fix if it goes bad. (Very unlikely. ) Overall Ashcom have also produced a good upgrade and at a good price.
