Installation Troubleshooting
1. If the program seems to lock-up after typing MEGA trying one of the
following:
- The MEGA.BAT file displays a graphic (.PCX) file which may be
causing problems displaying. Simply start the Mega Movie by
typing MEGAMOV at the DOS prompt. If that works, edit the
MEGA.BAT file and remove the line for the VIEWER.
- There is a DOS program called LOADFIX that deals with memory
usage. At the DOS prompt type LOADFIX MEGAMOV to start the
program. If that works, edit the MEGA.BAT file and remove
the line for the VIEWER and add LOADFIX to the MEGAMOV.EXE
line.
2. If there appears to be random read errors or "cannot read from drive
d" error, check the version or whether you are using MSCDEX.EXE.
Edit your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and make sure if you are using DOS 6.x
or higher, that the MSCDEX.EXE file in your DOS directory is being
used. (ie. C:\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE ...) Some CD-ROM drive installations
add a different version to your system. If you are using another
manufacturers version (ie. CORELCDX, NWCDEX, etc.) check with the
manufacturer for the lastest version.

Glossary of Terms
Folio: Infobases are divided into small idea-sized chunks of text
called folios. In most infobases a folio consists of a section or
a paragraph. Folios provide the basic unit in which searches are
performed.
Folio Markers: Folio Markers are small triangle-shaped markers ()
which indicate the beginning of each folio throughout an infobase.
They can be turned on or off according to your preference by
pressing F9.
Folio Number: Folio numbers appear in the upper right-hand border
of each window, and indicate the location of folios in the current
view.
Folio Reference: Folio references appear in the top border of each
window, and tell you where you are in the infobase. (i.e. what
section or paragraph you are in).
Full View: The term full view means a window that contains every
folio in an infobase. When you first open an infobase, you are
looking at a full view.
Group: A group consists of a predetermined set of folios which
have been given a name. Groups can be retrieved, and searches can
be performed within groups. Infobases generally have tables of
contents or menus that quickly take you to important groups. Groups
can be thought of as a subject index.
Infobase: An infobase is a collection of textual information, fully
indexed and stored in a file on your computer.
Link Token: Link tokens are small inverted triangles () which
appear throughout the text or beside menu selections. Link tokens
let you jump quickly from one place in an infobase to another.
Program link: (<->) Runs a predefined program from within your
infobase (e.g. WordPerfect, graphic files, etc.)
View: A view consists of all folios found by performing a
particular search. These folios are placed in a window.
Window: Windows are the area in which information appears on the

repositioned or resized. You can have several windows open at one
time.
