------- MOVE (EXPERT Function Key) -------
This is a function key that exists within the EXPERT functions
(see EXRERT function key).
-- The MOVE function key allows you to move a portion of your drawing,
and shrink or enlarge it at the same time.
-- After you press the MOVE function key, you will be prompted to define
the area of the drawing you are moving. To define the area, you
will use the cursor keys and the following function keys.
NOTE A four-cornered flashing box should appear on the screen,
and this is what you will be manipulating to define the area you
are moving, the location to which you are moving it, and its size.
-- CSPEED1...when moving the box with the cursor keys, move one dot
position at a time
-- CSPEED8...when moving the box with the cursor keys, move eight dots
position at a time
-- BOXCHG1...when changing the dimensions of the box,
change the dimension by one dot position at a time
-- BOXCHG8...when changing the dimensions of the box,
change the dimension by eight dot positions at a time
-- WIDER.....make the box wider
-- THINNER...make the box thinner
-- TALLER....make the box taller
-- SHORTER...make the box shorter
-- ABORT.....cancel the move operation
-- COMMIT....pressing this key indicates that the box on the screen
represents the exact area you want to move
-- After pressing the COMMIT key, you will be prompted for where you
want to move the defined area; you also have the opportunity
at this time to increase or decrease the size of the area being
moved. To do these things, the following function keys have
been provided (as well as the cursor keys).
-- CSPEED1...make box-cursor movement only 1 dot at a time
-- CSPEED8...make box-cursor movement 8 dots at a time
-- SHRNK10...shrink the area 10% (indicated by the size of the box)
-- SHRNK1....shrink the area 1% (indicated by the size of the box)
-- ENLRG10...enlarge the area 10% (indicated by the size of the box)
-- ENLRG1....enlarge the area 1% (indicated by the size of the box)
-- ABORT.....forget about this move operation
-- COMMIT....The box is where I want the area I defined moved to
and it is the size I want the area to be...
so go ahead and actually do the move.
*** IMPORTANT NOTE follows on the next help screen
*** IMPORTANT NOTE The MOVE function does not move every single
dot within an area to another area, rather
it reassigns the end points of lines, curves. etc.
This maintains the continuity of your drawing
and doesn't have the problem some graphics
systems have of "tearing off" one part of
your drawing and placing it some where else.
Instead, this function "logically" redraws
the specified area of your drawing where
and the size you want it to be.
