  1. The  STILL  RIVER  SHELL, by Bill White, is a full screen, "point
  2. and shoot" shell for PC/MS-DOS which provides an enhanced  system
  3. environment  for  file  and  directory  management  as  well as a
  4. command interface to DOS.  The shell allows  you  to:  turn  your
  5. directory into a menu you scroll through, selecting items for use
  6. in  command  execution; eliminate almost all command and filename
  7. typing; keep a stack of 20 of your prior DOS commands for instant
  8. recall, WP type command line  edit  and  execution;  copy,  move,
  9. delete  and  list  files  and  directories  with single keystroke
  10. command selection as well as  automatic  generation  of  command,
  11. file  and  directory  names  on  your  command  line; tag, untag,
  12. reverse tag individual files, ranges of files or all files either
  13. directory or system wide; pass a DOS command line for a each file
  14. in a set of tagged files; show realtime file, directory and  disk
  15. information  as  you execute commands; find files, or text within
  16. files, easily anywhere  on  your  system  with  one  command  and
  17. operate  (view,  edit,  copy etc) directly against the found file
  18. lists; display graphically directory tree structures and use tree
  19. display to make, remove or list directories; view the contents of
  20. a file in character or hex; sort files by name,  extension,  size
  21. or  date;  protect  against  accidentally  copying  onto existing
  22. files; backup large directories onto multiple  diskettes;  define
  23. your own extensions to the Shell's command set.
