  1.            HOW TO CHANGE THE GLOBAL OUTLINE STYLE

  4.  C. In PC-OUTLINE, you can change several parameters that define
  5.     the appearance of the outline from a single Option Box.
  6.     Choosing Global Outline Style from the Display menu will
  7.     bring up an Option Box with six types of settings:
  8.  
  9.     1. Indent Per Outline Level - this controls the number of
  10.        spaces that each level of the outline is indented. Any
  11.        number between 0 and 20 is valid.
  12.     2. Spaces For Numbering - this controls the number of leading
  13.        spaces that are allocated for numbering on the top level.
  14.     3. First Entry Number - this determines the starting value of
  15.        the first element in the outline. This allows you to start
  16.        the outline with a first element that is numbered "C" or "5"
  17.        instead of "A" or "1".
  18.     4. Numbering Type - sets all outline numbering to Sequential,
  19.        Procedural, Bullet, or None.
  20.     5. Level Letter - If Numbering Type is Sequential, then this
  21.        sets the lettering type to Uppercase Letters, Lowercase
  22.        Letters, Numbers, Roman Numbers, and Bullets on each of the
  23.        first eight levels.
  24.     6. Level Punctuation - If Numbering Type is Sequential, then
  25.        this sets the character to follow the Lettering on each of
  26.        the first eight levels.

  28.  D. Try some of the combinations listed below to see how the
  29.     Global Outline Style function works.

  31.     1. Indent Per Outline Level
  32.        a) Set this to 10
  33.        b) Set it back to the default of 3
  34.     2. Spaces for Numbering
  35.        a) Set this to 2, notice the numbering on the first level
  36.        b) Set this to 10, notice the spacing on the first level
  37.        c) Set this back to the default of 4
  38.     3. First Entry Number
  39.        a) Set this to 3 and move to the top of the outline
  40.     4. Numbering Type
  41.        a) Set this to Bullets
  42.        b) Set this back to the default of Sequential
  43.     5. Level Letter
  44.        a) Set this to Roman Numbers on the first level and Bullets on
  45.           the second level
  46.     6. Level Punctuation
  47.        a) Set this to * on the first two levels
