  8. Hi all, just got these mods, hot off the FAX!

  10. Note: It is not lawful to monitor cellular or conventional mobile
  11.       telephone conversations.

  13. The 2026 has cellular frequencies deleted at the factory, but
  14. restoration is the easiest ever! - clip one marked wire!  All you need
  15. is a Philips screwdriver and wire cutters.

  17. 1. Turn the scanner upside-down and remove the four side screws
  18. holding the bottom cover in place; pull the cover loose and set it
  19. back about two inches out of the way.
  20.  
  21. 2. Locate the small circuit board at the lower right-hand corner and
  22. find jumper L201.  Cut it and slightly separate the break.
  23.  
  24. 3. Reassemble the radio which now has continuous 806-956 MHz coverage
  25. and 30KHz search increments in the cellular band.

  27. *** I have not tried the above mod, but did acquire it from a
  28. commercial radio dealer who is very respectable, so as always, proceed
  29. at your own risk and realize that this will violate your warranty!
