D_TEXTBLOCK_TEXT    A lever is a simple <HL Topic=Machine.tpc>MACHINE</HL> that consists of a rigid bar that rests on a fixed point called the <HL Topic=Fulcrum.tpc>FULCRUM</HL>.  The <HL Topic=Force.tpc>FORCE</HL> exerted on a lever is called the <HL Topic=Effort.tpc>EFFORT</HL>, and the <HL Topic=Force.tpc>FORCE</HL> the lever exerts is called the <HL Topic=Resistance.tpc>RESISTANCE</HL>.  There are three classes of levers.  The position of the <HL Topic=Fulcrum.tpc>FULCRUM</HL> in relation to the <HL Topic=Effort.tpc>EFFORT</HL> and <HL Topic=Resistance.tpc>RESISTANCE</HL> is different for each kind of lever.
