Welcome to an Interactive Ghosts Demo
From Media Design Interactive
1. System Requirements:
This demo (and the full version) requires:
Multimedia PC with 4Mb of memory, 486 processor, 256 color
VGA display, Windows 3.1, compatible sound card and CD-ROM
drive. A fast video card is recommended for improved video
performance.
2. Installation:
From Program Manager, choose 'Run' from the 'File' menu,
then type:
D:\INSTALL (replace D with the drive letter of your CD-ROM)
then press return. Follow the on-screen instructions to
complete installation. When installation is complete,
double-click on the Ghosts icon to start the program.
3. How to move around Hobb's Manor
After the opening title sequence, you will find yourself in
the master bedroom of Hobb's Manor. In this demo version, you
cannot leave this room. In the full version of Ghosts, you have
the whole house to explore!
Once inside, you can move about by clicking on things that interest
you. You can turn to your left by clicking on the left edge of the picture.
To turn right, click on the right edge.
Watch the shape of the cursor as you move the mouse over the image.
For instance, when the cursor is shaped like a magnifying glass,
you can click to see a closer view.
4. Menus
At the top of the screen is the menu bar. There are three submenus:
4a. File Menu

Sound Effects Off Disables door closing sounds, etc.

refresh rate of your video card
(See Section 5 below).
Start Over Starts the program again.
5. Machine Configuration (optional)
5a. Video
Video in this product looks best in 16 bit color modes or higher.
However, video performance may be improved by using a 256 color
mode.
Check the documentation supplied with your video card for details
of the modes available in Windows, and how to choose them.
5b. Transitions
The quality of the turning movements around the house is directly
affected by the speed of your video card. The faster the card,
the smoother the scrolling will be.
Choosing a 256 color mode rather than a 16 bit color (or higher)
mode may also improve the quality of the turns.
Turning movements on fast video cards may be improved by
entering the current refresh rate (in Hertz) of the card.
Use 'Refresh Rate...' under the Options menu to configure this.
See your video card documentation for details.
