  8. Overview:-
  9. ---------   
  10. This program is designed to only allow access into your computer via 
  11. entry of a PASSWORD, pretty easy concept to grasp HUH. Well not only does it 
  12. do that but it also "Time,Date" stamps entry as well so you can keep 
  13. track of what time the system has been used, last accessed etc.
  14.  
  15. What to do:-
  16. -----------
  17. There are 3 files in this ARC, they are Passwort.prg, Passwort.dat, and this
  18. readme.txt. If you have all three of these you are the position to continue
  19. reading this, if you do not have them PANIC!!!!!, and find the missing
  20. files, look on GEnie in libary #2, you will see PASSWORT.ARC.
  21.  Ok what to do, well this is broken down into 2 areas, one for those of you
  22. with SH204,205's,Supra's,ICD,Triangle,SCSI hard disks and the likes. Two for
  23. those of you with the OMTI-Controller DMA interface(IBM PC 50way slot emulator)
  24.  
  25. 1:-FOR AN SH205 (and all SCSI Hard Disks)
  26. -->READ THIS OK,do not skim over it or you maybe "harry history-burger". <--
  27.    In your AUTO Folder on your hard disk arrange the files so this file is
  28.    the FIRST file, what file? Put "PASSWORT.PRG" in the AUTO folder as the 
  29.    first .prg. If you can not do this do not panic, but I suggest you put 
  30.    it near as possible to the first file as you want to STOP ACCESS into the 
  31.    hard disk and if you let it be turned on and off you defeat the purpose.
  32.    Now that you have done that put the file "PASSWORT.DAT" in your ROOT
  33.    directory.
  34.    Right that was easy enough, lets get into the rest of it now. The file 
  35.    "PASSWORT.DAT" is a very important file it has several things in it, like
  36.    the FIRST line tells what your password is.The second and all the rest is
  37.    the time date stamping. The following is an example.

  45.    To reset your password you need to load this file "PASSWORT.DAT" into
  46.    an ASCII editor ot text editor like TEMPUS and change your password.
  47.    That is right, just over-write the old password and it is changed.
  48. *** WARNING:- the password IS CASE dependant, ie IF entered in lower case, 
  49.               only lower case will work.                               ***

  51.    Ok some of you know how to boot from diskette and bypass the AUTO-FOLDER
  52.    well such is life, this is a good safe guard if you did not read this and
  53.    it locks you out.See comments at the end of this blerb.

  55. 2:-The OMTI CONTROLLER (DMA interface)
  56.    I will not expalin what this is in here surfice to say it is a cheap 
  57.    about $US39 way of having a hard disk on your ST, and it runs either
  58.    MFM or RLL drives, via a standard OMTI 5520 or 5510 IBM PC (XT or Novell)
  59.    SEGATE ST11m or ST11r IBM PC (XT-PS2) controller cards. In effect it 
  60.    emulates (in the loose sense) the IBM XT 50 way Slot on the mother-board,
  61.    via your ST's DMA port.
  62.    
  63.    Right into it, those of you with these will either be booting from disk 
  64.    or have done the mod for auto booting, so all you do is what was said in
  65.    section 1 above but be WARNED you can not and I stress can not , boot from
  66.    disk if you lock yourself out. So be very careful. This .prg was written for
  67.    type of Hard disk configuration.

  73.                    THE EXISTING PASSWORD IS :- GENI
  74.                    THE EXISTING PASSWORD IS :- GENI
  75.              (got it? GENI in upper-case is the password)
  76.  
  77.        Put "PASSWORT.PRG" in the auto-folder as the first file
  78.        Put "PASSWORT.DAT" in the root-directory
  79.  
  80.   ---->  THE PASSWORD IS 4(four) CHARACTERS LONG ONLY NO MORE NO LESS <----
  81.   
  82.   ---->   You only have 3 attempts to get it right OK, only 3 retries <----
  83.          
  84.  USE A TEXT EDITOR, TO CHANGE THE PASSWORD, AND READ THE LAST ACCESS TIME.

  86.               Works in all res. but designed for MONO ok.

  92.  A/ For an ATARI ST network to regulate users
  93.  B/ To stop people Accessing your Hard disk ie Mum, son, brother etc etc..
