APEXDEMO This is the official DEMO version of Apex Media from Black Scorpians
(distributed by Titan Designs). Included in this archive are the
English, German, and French language versions of the demo. All saving
is disabled, but everything else works.
APEX_202 This is the latest demo (released January 25, 1995) of the Apex
Animator graphics system for the Atari Falcon030 home computer. It
makes use of both of the Falcon processors (32-bit 68030 & 32MHz 24-
bit RISC DSP56001) and thus offers working performance greater than
an equivalent 50MHz 486DX PC. However, only the English language
version is in this distribution. For German and French language
versions, refer to the APEXDEMO folder.
FTKITDEM Demo of TraceTech's Falcon030 ToolKit (F030TKIT). The F030TKIT is a
multifaceted utility package that includes: TOS4Trap v2 - addresses
changes in TOS4's GEMDOS to improve compatibility with older,
improperly written software. Trace Formatter Jr CPX gives you quick
and easy access to a floppy disk formatter which has flexible options
such as # of tracks, DD/HD format, faster I/O, etc. The NVRAM
Configurator allows you to setup your F030's hardware and system
software with simple user preference selections.
MOONSPEE A playable demo of the Moon Speeder game from CompoScan France. This
should not be confused with the earlier NON-playable preview of Moon
Speeder. All the information you need to figure out the controls is
in the doc file.
NEONDEMO Demo version of the Neon Animation Studio. A new modeler/animator
from Germany. Requires a Falcon030 with a math co-processor. The
demo includes the object editor, scene editor, and a short animation.
PONG2K_3 Demo of Holland Game Design's PONG 2000, an Atari Falcon030 specific
game. PONG was the first video game ever. Since then many video
games have come and gone of which we have seen revivals on computers
(with technical improvements). But there has been no revival of PONG
until now! As the world leaps to the next generation of gameplay
Holland Game Design produced a pong clone with improved graphics and
sound. PONG 2000 will take you on a journey through time, and show
you Pong has been a basic element of exsistence. PONG 2000 runs on
any Atari Falcon030 with 4MB or more Ram with RGB monitors, TV or VGA
(multi sync) monitors.
SHANGAI Demo version of "Let's Play Shangai!" from 0X0 Concept. This 2500
year old game benefits from all the advantages of the FALCON, it
works in 640x480 256 colors with a VGA monitor, and in 640x400 256
colors with a RGB monitor or a TV. It uses the DSP for the music,
and changes automatically to the right resolution. Requires a Falcon
with 4 Megs of ram and either a VGA or RGB monitor.

*************************************************************************
124BEERS The 124 Beers Later demo from Trio. This "mega demo" was released at
the "Place To Be" coding party in France (August 18, 1994). Features
a lot of nice graphics including a video "tour" of one of the
programmer's (Murdoc) house.
AMY_WALK An animation that was originally done on an Amiga but has been ported
to the Falcon. It shows a "Walker" from the Star Wars movies being
chased by a cartoon character. They run around an Amiga 2000.
ARE_YOU The "Are You Experienced?" Falcon030 demo by EKO (Extremely Kriminal
Organization). The demo requires at least four megs to run. The
demo begins with a "space battle" of polygons. The demo then moves
on to other graphic effects (too many to list here). Various stereo
soundtracks are played throughout the demo. An excellent demo!
BIRDIE2 The Birdie II demo by Zeal. This Falcon030 specific demo was
apparently coded at a demo coding part called "Birdie num number 2".
The demo starts with some zooming fractals and moves on to rotating
spheres, star objects, etc. It also has the traditional stereo
soundtrack.
BOUND4 Bound 4 by Audoly Gilles. The 4th Bound demo features a color
background screen (a picture of a whale under water) which a sphere
"boinks" over. The "boinking" sphere has a picture of a girl inside
of it and has a glass transparent quality - you can see a faint,
distorted image of the background picture inside the sphere as it
moves. A nice bit of music plays in the background all throughout
the demo.
BURP Burp is a VERY small demo (it's only 333 bytes long) that, when run,
makes the screen bounce up and down. Whatever is on the screen after
that will bounce - be it the desktop, a program, etc.
CAMERA Sentry Developer Team presents an XLR8 production - "A Motion in
Falcon". This demo must be run from low res true color mode (320 X
200). It feature a camera's view of a nice country scene with a
mountain in the background. The camera pans all around the area
while music plays in the background.
CLOEN_VS CLOEN vs MOONSPEEDOR by (in alphabetic order) BESTBUG, CRAC, ENITALP,
MACDO, PSET. This demo lets you wander around a "dungeon" of sorts.
Make sure to watch the walls, some of them are animated.
DATELIN2 A graphics demo that "advertises" Al Petersen's Dateline BBS. Al
Petersen's BBS system offers 100% Atari support.
DC_BIO The "Built-In Obsolescence" demo by Digital Chaos is a fairly lengthy
demo that features several different screens of graphics effects
including a DSP Tunnel coded by "Tat", Fractal Zoom routines by
"Infinity", Realtime Julia and Rotating Mars by "Tat", DSP and 030
Soundtracker routines by "Tat" and music by "Tommy of Avena".
DEMO_FAL A collection of short demos by wax & gen & DeadHeart for the
Falcon030. Among the demos included are a graphics only demo that
displays a cool "laval lamp" type effect. Another of the graphics
only demos included displays a shaded, rotating cube.
DSP_DOTS A Falcon030 demo that uses the DSP to plot a group of dots that form
a sphere. This sphere is continually rotating and bouncing. The DSP
is doing all the calculations in real time. Pretty impressive
considering how many dots make up the sphere and how fast it is
rotating and bouncing.
ECLIPSE The "Eclipse" graphics demo must be run from the 320 X 200 True Color
mode. It works on either RGB or VGA monitors (there will be a tiny
bit of garbage at the bottom of the VGA screen due to it being larger
than it's RGB counterpart). You are in a space ship watching the
forward viewscreen. As you cruise around space, you see all types of
space craft flying around. No sound.
FALCON_D Falcond Demo Faq version: 1.1 created and maintained by Mr.XY -
GoreMaster of the GoreZone. This ASCII file lists and gives some
info about most of the Falcon graphics and sound demos in existence.
FEV_WEEK The Fever Week demo from Aura. This is an "internal release" demo
that was coded by one of the Aura members during a week in which he
was very ill and had to stay at home. With nothing else to do, he
cranked out this fairly impressive graphics and sound demo.
F_DEMO A short demo that proclaims the Falcon030 to be an "Amiga Basher", a
"PC Masher", and a "computer for real men". This demo MUST be run
from low res true color (320 X 200).
F_MOI Two short demos (F_MOI1.PRG and F_MOI2.PRG) by an unknown coder.
These demos both display some interesting graphics effects on screen.
GUTENTAG The "Gutentag" demo by Avena is a graphics and sound demo for the
Falcon that lets you "take control" so to speak. While background
music plays, some 3D shapes appear on the screen. Using the keyboard
you can rotate these shapes in the direction and speed you desire.
GUTS The "AllBran" demo by "Dezign" (or possibly the "Dezign Demo" by
"AllBran"?). Starts off with an ASCII "AllBran" logo. Pressing the
space bar starts the demo. Some music with explicit "in-your-face"
lyrics plays while a pretty good assortment of graphics routines
display on the screen.
HANGER Another super Falcon030 animation from Barry Summer. This one is an
outerspace scenario. It shows a few things that go through the
hanger of a large space station.
HIGHWAY The "Highway Star Demo" version 1.07 by PLPL. This demo was started
at the Place to Be '93 and finished on March 09, 1994. It starts out
by displaying a beautiful true color picture. It then moves on to
various graphics effects that remind you of a "color spirograph" or a
"kaleidescope effect". A "soothing" stereo soundtrack plays
throughout the demo. Requires and RGB monitor.
INDYMAG IndyMag 1 - an "intro" that was written for a planned (future) online
magazine.
INDYMAG2 IndyMag 2 - another "intro" that was written for a planned (future)
online magazine.
KILLER The "Killer Demo" by GEN, WAX, DEADHEART. One word describes this
demo -- AWESOME! It is a "music video" with REALTIME direct from
disk stereo playback along with digitized stills and some animated
stuff. Very well done - better than a lot of stuff on MTV. Runs on
both RGB and VGA monitors but MUST be run from the 256 color mode.
Note: while this demo will run from the CD, the pictures and sound
will be WAY out of sync with each other due to the fact that the
pictures can't load off of the CD ROM fast enough.
KRUSTON The "Kruston" demo by "Logitron" for the Falcon030. It starts out by
displaying an Atari Falcon030 logo. It then displays a Logitron
logo. Then a Kruston logo bounces onto the screen, raises to the
top, and a "cartoon" is displayed below it.
KRUSTON2 The "Kruston II" demo by Logitron for the Falcon030. This demo
features a "story slideshow" with a narration. The narration is in
French. This demo was coded by Maxx-C Benny (aka Fernandez Benoit).
At the end of the demo is a digitized "dance" segment featuring the
demo coders.
LB The "Lame Brain" demo from "The Megabusters". This demo definitely
qualifies as a "Mega-Demo". It contains several different screens -
each one contains a unique and interesting graphic animation. The
entire demo is accompanied by a stereo soundtrack.
MICKMDM1 The "Mick Mouse" demo is a very small graphics and sound demo. It
features DSP playback of a stereo soundtrack with a true color
picture displayed on the screen. A "Mick Mouse" logo "boinks" over
the true color picture. Press space bar to exit.
MOKTAR The "Mostly Harmless" demo by MJJ Productions was finished and
released at the "Place To Be Again" coding party. It features the
usual stereo soundtrack and a variety of graphics screens. However,
there are no scrolling lines of text. Instead there are
"intermission" screens between each demo screen. When the demo
starts, you will have to press the space bar to continue past the
intro screen.
MORPH_1 Demonstration morph file (.FLH) between a girls and tigers face.
Includes the Black Scorpian .FLX, .FLI, .FLC, .FLH file viewer (works
in all resolutions with BlowUp and ScreenBlaster too!
MORPH_2 Second morph, changing between a girls face and a Japeneise cartoon
girl. Once again includes the Black Scorpians .FL? viewer - v3.00.
MSX_DSK1 Music Compile 1 - an Independent Production. This is a "jukebox"
featuring some of the best original songs of many demo coding teams.
The songs include: "680XX Tune" by Tommy of Avena; "Cry of a Condor"
by Stax of Lazer; "Dentrotheme" and "Purple Sky" by Domm of
AnimalMine; "Fly" and "Memories" by Beatbox of Aura; "Hawk",
"Legalize It", "Midgard", and "Valley of Hope" by Ripguy of Risk;
"Silent 6" by Front 6 of Avena.
PENICHE The "Bite the Boat Party" Falcon030 demo by Wax & Gen. Once the demo
starts you will have to press the space bar to get past the intro
screen. Besides the intro screen, the demo consists of a boat that
rotates and moves around the screen. A stereo soundtrack plays all
throughout the demo.
P_O_I The Point of Inflection demo by Lord Foul. This Falcon030 demo
starts out with a stereo soundtrack playing and various 3D rotating
objects being formed out of dots (similar to a starfield that takes
on a specific shape). Press the space bar to advance to the 2nd
phase - which consists of the dot objects moving side to side across
the screen. Press the space bar again for the 3rd phase - multiple
"boinking" dot spheres. The final phase is the credits screen.
SATURNE2 Saturne by HYDROXID. A "little Dentro" that consists of a couple of
"title" pages and a rotating starfield coded by "Cristalion", music
by "Skidz", DSP replay routines by "Nullos/DNT Crew", logo & font
design by "Saya" with additional coding by "Artoax".
SCROLL A scroll demo by Stefan Egeler. This demo displays a picture of a
fractal in black and white. It "fades into color". All the time it
is moving around the screen. This demo runs on both RGB and VGA
monitors but *MUST* be run from the 256 color mode.
SPRITE A small Sprite demo by Stefan Egeler that consists of sprites (in the
form of circles and then happy faces) moving about over a true color
background picture of 2 ninjas fighting. There are two versions of
the program - 1 for RGB and 1 for VGA. Both must be run from the 320
X 200 True Color Mode.
SPY_DEMO The "Spy Hunter" demo by "Reservoir Gods" is a short demo that
features some cars traveling on a scrolling road similar to the Spy
Hunter coin operated video game. The cars blow up within seconds of
starting the demo, but the landscape keeps scrolling. No sound.
STRANGE "Strange Circumstances" by New Trend. This "mega demo" has way too
many screeens/ scenes to list individually. It contains some
stunning graphics (true color) and some very interesting graphic
effects. Note, the "greetings" are in the MIDDLE of the demo - so
don't shut the machine off when they start. This demo requires and
RGB monitor or TV (or MultiSync monitor).
SUMMORPH An animation by Barry Summer that demonstrates morphing. Watch as a
parrot morphs into the words "Summer Video".
TGASLIDE This is one of the very first graphics demos that existed for the
Falcon. This slideshow presentation was released as a way to show
off the Falcon's dazzling True Color graphics modes. Despite being
one of the first demos out, it stills shows off the Falcon's graphics
capabilities rather nicely.
VIRTCITY Falcon030 Virtual City by Tony Bennett. This demo is interactive.
You can move around in a virtual reality city using your mouse
(buttons control speed, moving the mouse controls direction). The
demo requires an RGB monitor and runs in True Color. It makes use of
the DSP for matrix rotation calculations. Pretty slick.
WAIWALA The Waiwala demo by NCC (New Computer Concept) was written in two
days at the "Place to be Again" convention in August of 1994. The
demo runs in RGB mode and features the obligatory stereo soundtrack.
The graphics effects consist of the "Waiwala" logo moving back and
forth in the background while the names of the coders are spelled out
in "vectorized" lines that dance across the screen. There are other
graphic effects as the demo progresses.
WALKER1 Atari Walker by B. Summer is a graphics animation based on an Amiga
animation. It was modified and converted on the Atari Falcon030
using Apex Media.
WELTSCHM The "WELTSCHMERZ" Falcon030 demo by Avena. All design, grafix,
digitizing, music & most of the code by "Fried". The main animation
player was done by "Boris". It starts out with a True Color pciture
of a serene forest scene - complete with a babbling brook and
"forest" sound effects. Then there is an explosion and load, fast
paced music plays while several scenes of death and destruction flash
across the screen. At the end of the demo is silence and a picture
of a small child.
WORMHOLE Wormhole is another Falcon030 animation by Barry Summer. It shows
some guy sitting in a rotating space ship.
XMAS_DBA "Rave the Christmas" Falcon030 demo by "DBA". According to the
scrolling text in the demo, the DBA "wishes all of you a raving
Christmas and a happy new year". This is their 1st production for
the Falcon030. It features a driving, rock-ish, Christmas music
soundtrack and some interesting graphics effects (note the changing
intensity of the scrolling text and the background snow).
XPERIENC The "X-Perience" demo by "Abstract". A fairly good sized demo that
features many screens including: Some nice RayTraced pictures in
505000 Colors, Gouraud Shading (23000 pixL/VBL), 4096 Dots morphing,
Multi-Objet Concave Inter Objets Morphing 'Abstract World' (80
Faces), and 3D Concave Morphing. Requires an RGB monitor (the docs
claim it works on VGA but it didn't on the Falcon I tested it on).
X_OVER The "XOVER" demo by "The Chaos Engine". This short demo was created
because the group heard the music that plays throughout the demo and
thought the music was so good that it deserved a demo to go with it.
The music was composed by "Horizon" and the DSP replay routines were
written by "Bitmaster of Blue Software". Works on both RGB and VGA
monitors.
ZOOMAND An FLC animation by Francois Le Coat of a floating, spinning island
of mountains in the foreground with a true color planet Earth
rotating in the background. Requires an FLC player and an RGB
monitor.

TAUTLOGY Tautology by the Reservoir gods is a highly addictive game for the
Falcon 030. Up to two (count them) players can compete in this
battle of wits. The game itself is based on a coin-op that appeared
in the arcades years ago, but in the best Bally/Midway and Williams
style, it hasn't lost its charm. The aim of the game is to clear all
the tiles from a grid. Tiles can be removed by matching them with a
tile of the same kind or a tile from the same set - but its not quite
as simple as that. To make tiles vanish you must be able to draw a
line across free space from one tile edge to another tile edge whilst
only turning two corners.
TETRHUNR TETRHEX version 1.15 [November 28, 1994] by Vincent Lefèvre is a
