  5.   The TC-Package is subject to the following license terms and
  6.   conditions.

  8.   *   The TC-package is supplied as is. The author disclaims all
  9.       warranties, expressed or implied, including, without limitation,
  10.       the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any purpose.
  11.       The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential,
  12.       which may result from the use of the TC-package.
  13.  
  14.   *   The TC-package is a "shareware program" and is provided at no
  15.       charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  16.       friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of another
  17.       system. The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
  18.       computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet
  19.       to provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new products.

  21.   *   The TC-package, all programs, the documentation and support files are
  22.       copyrighted 1991 by Patrik Sjöberg. All rights are reserved.
  23.       You may copy this package for backup purposes. You may also copy and
  24.       share unmodified copies of the whole package, providing that the
  25.       copyright notice is reproduced and included on all copies.

  27.   *   You may not sell the product for a fee and/or distribute the product
  28.       along with other products without written permission, nor may you
  29.       modify or remove the Copyright Notices from the programs or the
  30.       documentation files. User clubs, if they are NOT commercial, are
  31.       allowed to ask a small amount of money for distribution and storage
  32.       when they want to share this package amongst their members.

  34.   *   It is forbidden to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer,
  35.       decompile and/or disassemble the software in the TC-package.
  36.       Patching the medium at places that carry the software is seen as a
  37.       program change and is also forbidden.

  39.   *  Non-commercial users can get a licence for the usage up to this
  40.      release of the TC-package for a small amount of money. Look into
  41.      the details later in this document. Previous registered users will
  42.      receive a big reduction to upgrade to the newer versions.

  44.   *  Commercial usage of the TC-Package will cost somewhat more. Also, a so
  45.      called 'closed' Bulletin Board System (a system where the user must
  46.      pay direct to the SysOp to get full access) has to pay more than a
  47.      Non-commercial user.  Usage of the TC-Package on a BBS with 3 (three)
  48.      lines or more is considered as 'closed BBS' usage also.

  51.     The different licenses.

  54.     There are several ways of registrating the TC-package. It is
  55.     all depending on the environment where TC will be running.
  56.     Read the disclaimer above before you decide what type of registration
  57.     that suits your environment.

  59.     NON-Commercial registration :

  61.     Regarding the time and effort i have put into this product, the
  62.     NON-commercial registration is simple and rather cheap.

  64.     Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:

  66.     - The license for running ONE copy of the TC-package on any
  67.       computer in a NON-commercial environment. Allthough you must
  68.       treat the TC-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run
  69.       on more than one CPU at a time.
  70.  
  71.     - The license for NON-commercial usage can not be used in any other
  72.       environment than the NON-commercial environment itself. Upgrading
  73.       to a commercial license or to a license for a closed BBS can be
  74.       done by paying the difference in price between the current license
  75.       and the new license;
  76.  
  77.     The license does NOT include any update service as described later
  78.     nor does it include the 90 days support service.

  80.     The price for a NON-commercial license is SEK 0 :-

  83.     Closed BBS registration:
  84.     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  85.     When you use the TC-Package on a it on a so called 'closed' BBS you
  86.     must pay for a closed BBS license.
  87.  
  88.     The definition of a closed BBS is a BBS where the users must pay to the
  89.     Sysop to get full access. Also a BBS with three (3) or more lines must
  90.     pay a closed BBS License.

  92.     Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:

  94.     - The license for running ONE copy of the TC-package on any
  95.       computer in a closed BBS environment. Allthough you must
  96.       treat the TC-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run

  99.     - The license for closed BBS usage can not be used in any other
  100.       environment than the closed BBS environment itself. Upgrading
  101.       to a commercial license can be done by paying the difference
  102.       in price between the current license and the new license;

  104.     The license does NOT include any update service as described later
  105.     nor does it include the 90 days support contract.

  110.     The price for a closed BBS license is SEK 80:-

  113.     Commercial registration:

  115.     When you use the TC-Package in a commercial environment you must pay
  116.     for commercial license use TC. Any company registrating TC is
  117.     regarded as a commercial. It doesn't matter if the company isn't
  118.     making any money from the usage. It is still being run from an
  119.     commercial environment.

  121.     Payment of the registration fee, entitles you to:

  123.     - The license for running ONE copy of the TC-package on any
  124.       computer in a commercial environment. Allthough you must
  125.       treat the TC-Package like a book. That is, it can't be run
  126.       on more than one CPU at a time.

  128.     - The license for commercial usage can be used in any other
  129.       environment than the closed BBS environment. As long as the
  130.       above is regarded and TC is used like a book.

  132.     The license does NOT include any update service as described later
  133.     nor does it include the 90 days support contract.

  135.     The license is NOT a Site license. Contact the Author for information
  136.     if you wish to enter a site license.

  145.     There are several ways of transfering the license fee to me.
  146.     Common for all of them is that they should be made payable
  147.     to Patrik Sjöberg.

  149.     - By postal money order or international money order. Normal cheques
  150.       will cost me extra money to cash, so add SEK 40:- for transfer
  151.       if you use a cheque. The real rate for transfering a Foreign check
  152.       is SEK 70 :- so i am only charging you some of the amount for
  153.       this.  The conversion charge only applies to Non-Swedish cheques.

  155.     - By Postal Giro.
  156.       My Postal Giro account in Stockholm is 82 04 89 - 3.
  157.       The Postal Giro is also known as PostGiro, Postcheckkonto,
  158.       Compte Chèques postaux, PostRekening, Girobank Account all
  159.       depending on the country you live in.

  161.     - Sending money directly.

  163.     All prices are given in Swedish Krones. If you feel unsure what the
  164.     current exchange rate is talk with your bank. They will be more than
  165.     happy to help you out. A small indication is the 6.00 skr = $1.
  166.     But do NOT use the exchange rate when You calculate the cost
  167.     of registrating.

  210.     How much I still would like to send you all an upgrade for free I
  211.     can't do that. My phonebills wouldn't stand it. So if you would
  212.     like an upgrade of TC when it sees the light of day you will have
  213.     to enter the update service. International users who use TC will
  214.     benefit most of this feature. Paying the fee for update service,
  215.     entitles you to:
  216.  
  217.     - Receiving every new release for the period of one year or 10
  218.       releases (which ever comes first) on diskette media by
  219.       first-class Airmail.
  220.  
  221.     - The diskettes are first-class (no no-name or white diskettes) and
  222.       will contain a special diskette label;
  223.  
  224.     The disk(s) will be mailed the same day as the new version is released.

  230.     The TC-Package has full support from its Author.
  231.     New versions are allways under development. And the Author is
  232.     allways open to the user input. So if you feel that something
  233.     is missing or that something is "backwards" let me know and
  234.     i'll have a look at it and maybe in some future version you'll
  235.     find it implemented.
  236.  
  237.     As a registered user you are entitled to :
  238.  
  239.     - Free support.
  240.  
  241.     - This support consists of answering questions and fixing any program
  242.       errors the user submits to Author in person. Only program errors
  243.       that can be reproduced and that interfere with the intended use of
  244.       the program as outlined in the documentation will be fixed. The
  245.       author can ask you to give some special data to correct the problem
  246.       and can ask you to check if you own a valid copy of the TC-package.
  247.  
  248.     - The author may choose not to fix any problem that is related to
  249.       hardware and/or software configurations that causes one or more
  250.       of the programs in the TC-package not to run correctly. If the
  251.       Author chooses to NOT correct such a problem you are NOT entitled
  252.       to a refund of the license money.
  253.  
  254.     Unregistered users will only reciece support if i have the time.
  255.     I do NOT guarente that non-registered users will get any response from
  256.     the Author.
