PURPOSE
Q-A Test is a handy utility to provide a means of reviewing your
questionnaires without actually logging onto your bulletin board
system.
SHAREWARE NOTICE
While this product is distributed freely, it is not free. It has been
released under a software concept known as ShareWare. ShareWare
allows you to evaluate a program to determine if it suits your needs,
and register it with the author if you plan to continue usingit. This
means that you have the right to test this product for a period of no
more than thirty (30) days. At the end of the 30 day evaluation
period, you must register your copy with the author, or stop using it.
By registering the ShareWare programs you use, you encourage support
of that product, as well as the creation of other ShareWare products.
The more people who register, the more programmers turn to te Share-
Ware concept. It's that simple.
MONIES
There are currently two ways to register a RodentWare product. The
least expensive method is to register an individual program, such as
this one. The second method is to register as a "supporter" which
entitiles you to use any RodentWare products for your single regist-
ration.
Q-A Test Version 1.0 Documentation (Page 2)
KEYS
After registering your RodentWare products, you will recieve a special
"key file." At startup, all RodentWare programs first check for the
existance of such a key to determine if the file is registered.
For a registration fee of $5.00 (US) you will receive a QATEST.KEY
registration KEY, valid for Q-A Test only. All versions of Q-A Test
will use the same keyfile, so you will never have to re-register the
same program.
For a registration fee of $50.00 (US) you will receive a RODENT.KEY
registration KEY, valid for ALL RodentWare programs. All versions of
all RodentWare programs will check for the same keyfile. By choosing
to register as a RodentWare "supporter," you will automatically be
registered for ALL RodentWare releases; past, present, and future.
Please see the text file RODENT.REG included in the Q-A Test archive
for registration information.

The author shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential,
or incidental damages (including damages for loss of business profits,

the author has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

small amount of money for distribution and storage when they want to
share this package amongst their members.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The following equipment, software, and files are necessary to run this
program:
An operational bulletin board system running RemoteAccess, QuickBBS,
SuperBBS, or any BBS software that uses an identical questionnaire
language.
QATEST.EXE file included in the UserFlag archive.
INSTALLATION
To install Q-A Test for use on your RemoteAccess (RA) BBS, copy the
file QATEST.EXE to your BBS system directory, or to a directory where
you keep your questionnaire (*.Q-A) files.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
Simply, Q-A Test will simulate a RemoteAccess, QuickBBS, or SuperBBS
questionnaire file.
The command line is:
QATEST <Filename[.Ext]> [TextPath]
Filename is the name of the questionnaire file to test. An extension
of .Q-A is assumed unless specified.
TextPath is the path to your BBS textfiles directory. This is needed
for the DISPLAYFILE option. If this is not specified, the current
directory is assumed.
The following commands are supported:
ASK <Len> <Num>
CAPITALISE <ON|OFF>
CHANGECOLOR <Foreground> <Background>
CLEARSCREEN
DISPLAY "<Text>"
DISPLAYFILE <1-8 character name>
GETCHOICE <Choices> <Num>
LISTANSWER <Num>
QUIT
WAITENTER
IF..ENDIF statements are parsed correctly.
Q-A Test Version 1.0 Documentation (Page 4)
PROGRAM INFORMATION continued
The following commands are not fully supported:
EXEC <Command>
The EXEC will only display "Shell to: <command>"
MENUCMND <Command> <Data>
The MENUCMND will only display "Menu Command: <command> <data>"
The following statements are also supported:
OUTPUTANSWER "<Description>" <Num>
POSTINFO
SETFLAG <Flag><Number> <ON|OFF>
SETSECURITY <Level>
QATEST will keep a temporary answer ("ASW") file where it stores the
OUTPUTANSWER and POSTINFO results. This file is called QATEST.$$$ and
is displayed at the end of the questionnaire. It is always deleted
afterwards.
QATEST also keeps a temporary "LOG" file where it stores the SETFLAG
and SETSECURITY results. This file is called QATEST.%%% and, like the
QATEST.$$$ file, is displayed at the end of the questionnaire. It is
always deleted afterwards. The logging format is identical to RA's
Frontdoor-style logging format. However, QATEST is still fully compat-
ible with QBBS/SBBS questionnaires as well.

A special announcment goes out to all of you to invite you to join
with the RodentWare authors, supporters, and growing number of users
in a new support echo titled 'RODENT'. The RODENT echo is to aid
support to all RodentWare users without adding more wear and tear on
the other echoes. Ask your *EC about receiving this echo -- it is on
the Fidonet Zone 1 BACKBONE!
