PERSONAL NUMEROLOGIST
INSTALLATION AND QUICK START INSTRUCTIONS
INTRODUCTON
This easy-to-use shareware program produces in-depth personality
reports based on your name and birth date. Professional looking
reports run 6 to 8 pages and reveal the most intimate traits and
desires for yourself, friends, family, lovers and even co-workers.
The program uses an advanced technique to integrate all related
numbers, similar to what a professional numerologist does in a
personal reading. By going beyond the simple "cookbook" approach
used by other programs, reports are surprisingly accurate and
relevant.
Each report includes detailed descriptions of the Life Path,
Expression, Soul Urge, Birthday, Master Numbers, Repeated Numbers,
Karmic Debts, Karmic and Modified Karmic Lessons and Intensity
Points. The program is the work of Matthew Oliver Goodwin, the
highly respected numerologist and author of the definitive,
"Numerology: The Complete Guide." An earlier version of Personal
Numerologist was offered in the Selective Software catalog.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
The Personal Numerologist program consists of about 33 files that
are shipped in compressed format. NUMROLGY.EXE is the self-
extracting file that contains these files. (The file PACKING.LST
contains a complete listing of the contents of NUMROLOGY.EXE.) In
1
addition, the following documentation files should be separately
included on the distribution disk:
README Installation and quick start text file
README.BAT Batch file to print README file
PNMANUAL.DOC Complete program documentation file
PNMANUAL.BAT Batch file to print manual
PRODUCTS.DOC Product catalog text file
PRODUCTS.BAT Batch file to print product catalog
VENDOR.DOC Distribution information text file
PACKING.LST Text file listing all required files
NOTE: If you obtained this program through a BBS, it was probably
in ZIP format as NUMROLGY.ZIP. In this case, there is no
NUMROLGY.EXE file, as all the files contained in
NUMROLGY.EXE plus the above documentation files are in
NUMROLGY.ZIP instead. The PACKING.LST file gives a complete
list of the files you should have received after UNZIPPING
this file.
In the following instructions, substitute NUMROLGY.ZIP
where NUMROLGY.EXE is shown. Also, use PKUNZIP to
decompress this file, as NUMROLGY.ZIP is not self-
extracting. Since the documentation files are already a
part of NUMROLGY.ZIP, ignor the following statements about
copying the documentation files.
Before you can use Personal Numerologist, it is necessary to
perform the following simple steps to decompress the program files
and make a working copy.
Hard Disk Systems
1. Make PN sub-directory, then go to it by entering the following
DOS commands:
MD \PN
then
CD \PN
2. Copy the self-extracting file from the distribution diskette to
the PN sub-directory:
COPY A:NUMROLGY.EXE C:\PN
where C: can be changed to the actual hard disk drive you are
copying the file to if it is different than drive C:.
3. From the PN sub-directory, run the self-extracting file to
decompress the program files:
2
NUMROLGY
(When you execute NUMROLGY, a screen of information giving a
summary of the installation process will appear. Just press Y
to start the decompression process.)
4. Once all the files have been decompressed, the NUMROLGY.EXE
file can be deleted from the hard disk:
DEL NUMROLGY.EXE
5. Copy the document files from the distribution diskette:
COPY A:PNMANUAL.* C:\PN
then
COPY A:PRODUCTS.* C:\PN
6. You are now ready to run Personal Numerologist by entering the
following command from the DOS prompt:
PN
The first time you run Personal Numerologist answer Y to the
first program prompt:
Do you want INSTRUCTIONS (Y/N)?
This will give you enough information to successfully use the
program without reading the manual. When you are ready, the
manual will provide additional information that may be helpful.
720KB Or Larger Floppy Disk Only Systems
1. Put the distribution disk with the NUMROLGY.EXE file in drive A
and a blank, formatted floppy in drive B.
2. Make a working copy of the distribution disk by entering the
following DOS command:
COPY A:*.* B:
3. Remove the distribution disk from drive A and move the newly
copied disk from drive B to drive A.
4. Now, run the self-extracting file to decompress the program
files. From DOS, enter:
NUMROLGY

4. Put a new, blank, formatted floppy in drive B.

SHAREWARE AND HOW IT WORKS
Personal Numerologist is distributed as a Shareware program.
Shareware is software which is provided to you on a "try before
you buy" basis. It is not free software. Shareware authors request
registration fees from those who try their programs and decide
they will continue to use them. (Shareware authors do not receive
payments from disk vendors or BBSs from which you may have
acquired the program diskettes or downloaded the files.) Because
Shareware authors do not have to pay the high cost of advertising,
the fees they charge for registration are modest in comparison to
commerically available programs.
With Personal Numerologist you have the convenience of trying out
the complete program to decide if you want to keep it. This is not
a crippled or demo copy, but the complete working version of the
program. Only if you are satisfied and continue to use the program
do you need to pay for it. You are encouraged to copy the Personal
Numerologist diskette and share it freely with others.
After you have used Personal Numerologist for a reasonable
evaluation period (not to exceed 60 days) you must either stop
using it or buy a registered copy from Widening Horizons. The
registered copy costs $39 (U.S. funds) plus $5 shipping/handling
for U.S. and Canada and $10 shipping/handling for all other
countries.
When you register Personal Numerologist, you get the following
valuable benefits:
o The most current version of Personal Numerologist containing
the latest features that have been added.
o An additional module for doing Yearly Forecasts -- the
significant influences that affect you each year.
o A complete 42 page, typeset and bound manual.
5
o "The Science of Numerology," written by Matthew Oliver Goodwin.
This valuable resource not only gives a good introduction to
numerology, but shows how to get the most from Personal
Numerologist. (Goodwin is the author of the text and program
algorithms used in Personal Numerologist as well as the highly
acclaimed, two volume set, "Numerology: The Complete Guide.")
o A $30 credit towards the purchase of The Numerologist Report
Writer, our professional report writing program.
o Unlimited, free telephone support.
o Notification of updates to Personal Numerologist.
o New product announcements.
o Periodic special price offers.
For your convenience, a registration form can be printed by
pressing the letter R when on the last screen of the program. This
screen is reached by exiting the program. An order form with
registration information is also included in the PRODUCTS.DOC file
which can be printed by entering the command, PRODUCTS, from the
DOS prompt. We can be reached at:
