  9.     WHAT IS ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DESIGNER?
  10.     Through interactive programming technique Electronic Circuit
  11.     Designer takes much of the tedium out of designing the more common
  12.     electronic circuits.  The 62 programs that comprise Electronic
  13.     Circuit Designer help the design engineer or technician play "What
  14.     if?" with the design.  He can quickly substitute component values,
  15.     change parameters and design specifications, and immediately see
  16.     the effects.  Electronic Circuit Designer will free the technician
  17.     to concentrate on the circuit design instead of studying reference
  18.     tables and books of equations and entering numbers into a
  19.     calculator.

  21.     HOW TO RUN ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DESIGNER
  22.     To start the program, type "ECD" at the DOS prompt and press the
  23.     "Enter" key.  The batch file ECD.BAT will run Electronic Circuit
  24.     Designer from this disk.  Arrow keys and the "Enter" key select
  25.     menu items.  The "Escape" key will return you to the main menu
  26.     from anywhere in the program.  Numeric data enters from right to
  27.     left, calculator style.  Zero and negative numbers are locked out
  28.     of most entries to prevent errors.  Where negative numbers are
  29.     allowed the sign shows to the right of the number.

  31.     PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
  32.     This program requires color graphics and supports CGA and EGA
  33.     graphics and can display on VGA equipped computers.  The program
  34.     can be run from a floppy and requires 320k of free memory.

  37.     This release of ECD may be freely distributed so long as this
  38.     README file remains with the program and the program remains
  39.     unaltered.  The author assumes no liability for the use or misuse
  40.     of this program.

  42.     ADVERTISEMENT
  43.     Since the review in the May 1990 issue of Electronics World &
  44.     Wireless World the program has undergone two major revisions.  The
  45.     first upgrade moved the program to a compiled language and added
  46.     EGA/VGA graphics support.  The current version 3.1 adds additional
  47.     functions in basic electronics and communications.  Although the
  48.     program is fully self documenting I have prepared a 22 page manual
  49.     to further support the program.

  51.     For a $25.00 registration fee plus shipping cost, the registered
  52.     owner will receive the latest updated version of the program and
  53.     manual.  All registered users will receive update notices of new
  54.     releases.

  56.     HISTORY
  57.     I wrote the first version of this program for the TRS 80 about 5-6
  58.     years ago.  Later when I upgraded to an IBM I rewrote the program
  59.     (version 2) in GWBasic.  The program was for my personal use in
  60.     deciphering other engineers circuit designs.  In 1987 I up-loaded
  61.     the program to a local bulletin board hoping someone else might
  62.     find it useful.

  64.     Somehow the program found its way across the Atlantic where
  65.     Electronics World & Wireless World magazine reviewed it.  I
  66.     learned of the review when orders started to flow in.
  67.  
  68.     Encouraged by orders from around the world, I moved the program to
  69.     Quick Basic 4.5.  The addition of support for EGA/VGA graphic and
  70.     self documentation quickly followed.  Added functions in BASIC
  71.     ELECTRONICS and COMMUNICATIONS are the latest enhancements in
  72.     version 3.1.  I am currently working on the next version, soon to
  73.     be released, adding functions suggested by letters from users.
