These utulities,included in this archive,have been released with the
kind permission of the author of Maximus,Scott Dudley.The licensing
agreement pertaining to that software package therefore applies to this
one also.
This software is guaranteed to take space on your disk,other than that,
it carries no warrantees whatsoever ;-)
Purpose.
There are many systems,that don't actually run Maximus,but DO run
BinkleyTerm 2.55,and who would LOVE to take advantage of the Maxfiles.idx
file frequest scanning feature that BinkleyTerm 2.55 offers.Well,thanks
to Vince Fletcher of 2:253/410 and myself (who did the testing,what there
was of it),those systems running software other than Maximus,but using
a files.bbs type files database,can now use the Maxfiles.idx feature.
Please read the very simple,and straightforward,text file included in
the package,it tells you all you need to know.If I could set it up first
time,so can you ;-)
One word of advice,if you use Magic filenames in your okfiles list,make
sure the maxfiles.idx entry goes AFTER those MAGIC entries.
Here's an example...
@Winfile J:\File\Freqlist\Winfiles.Zip
@Wininfo G:\Win\Syst\Wininfo.Arj
@X00 D:\File\Fossil\X00v124.Arj
*C:\Binkley\Files\Maxfiles.Idx
follow the instructions for the setup in BinkleyTerm 2.55,and soon
you too will be able to offer fast file requests.
