  7. sKrellane, with his
  8. eyes withdrawn,
  9. manages a twisted
  10. smile.  He speaks
  11. softly, "I am
  12. impressed with your
  13. persistence.  It
  14. marks you as a
  15. brilliant man.  But
  16. that brilliance has
  17. failed you. I am not
  18. the evil tyrant you
  19. believe me to be.  I
  20. was once a kind,
  21. benevolent monarch.
  22. But a curse befell
  23. my children and they
  24. slowly became those
  25. ghastly gendors.
  26. They would have died
  27. had I not made a
  28. deal with the Three
  29. Demons of the
  30. Netherworld.  I
  31. agreed to change my
  32. ways so that the
  33. demonic beasts'
  34. whims would become
  35. law across the land.
  36. As king, I could
  37. promise that. Do you
  38. think me ignoble for
  39. such a thing?  My
  40. honor, ironically,
  41. is the very reason I
  42. had to maintain my
  43. part of the pact. It
  44. was my own morality
  45. that condemned my
  46. people.  And for
  47. what?  So that my
  48. children would
  49. grow up as lizards
  50. without even their
  51. minds expanding,
  52. without their ever
  53. learning?  They have
  54. no future.  To me,
  55. they have died.  But
  56. at the time I made
  57. the deal, I believed
  58. they could be saved.
  59. For my children, I
  60. have even cast my
  61. dearest friend down.
  62. I have fallen so far
  63. from what I believed
  64. in, but it was all
  65. for a good cause.
  66. And now I am trapped
  67. here ruling this
  68. abysmal world, just
  69. as the devil must
  70. rule his realm.  He
  71. and I made a
  72. commitment for a
  73. cause and neither
  74. one of us can go
  75. back on his word.

  77. Have you learned of
  78. the Prophecy? Do you
  79. know what it means?
  80. I have only a small
  81. piece of it, but I
  82. understand.  I have
  83. lived for over
  84. seventy years and I
  85. have seen life as it
  86. is...the pain, the
  87. misery...who knows
  88. where destiny lies?

  91. magical shields of
  92. protection. Kill

  98. fades slowly...he
  99. speaks, "I am sorry
  100. I did not tell you
  101. that there was a
  102. curse on any man who
  103. killed me.  The one
  104. who delivered the
  105. mortal blow would
  106. die the moment I
  107. fell lifeless.
  108. Although I will
  109. not see you dead,
  110. I will know that I
  111. won..."  Krellane
  112. falls dead, as you
  113. collapse to the
  114. floor in a crumpled
  115. heap.

  117. The Empire continues
  118. to be ruled by the
  119. Three Evil Demons
  120. from the
  121. Netherworld, and
  122. countless souls are
  123. forced to endure
  124. horrible injustices!^1999@
  125. sA look of
  126. frustration covers
  127. Krellane's face as
  128. he flares, "Why not?
  129. Do you want me to
  130. say I killed your
  131. father?  I did! I've
  132. killed millions of
  133. fathers!" The king's
  134. expression returns
  135. to the previous calm
  136. withdrawn voice, "I
  137. see.  You know of
  138. the Prophecy,
  139. indeed. Do you know
  140. that the Three
  141. Priests you have
  142. aided so far are, in
  143. fact, the very same
  144. Three Demons I made
  145. the pact with?  I
  146. have willfully
  147. violated the pact,
  148. and so my children
  149. will soon die.  I
  150. did not realize that
  151. offering my life to
  152. you would break the
  153. agreement. I have no
  154. reason to continue
  155. this evil reign.
  156. And I have no
  157. intention of letting
  158. them continue it!"

  160. "The Three Demons,
  161. your Three Priests,
  162. have just entered my
  163. castle."  The king
  164. leans over, inserts
  165. a ring into a slot
  166. in his throne, which
  167. is immediately
  168. followed by some
  169. chants.  He says
  170. quickly, "I have set
  171. Castle Trinadon to
  172. destroy itself
  173. shortly.  You have
  174. little time.  The
  175. only way out is
  176. through magic or the
  177. secret exit."  He
  178. vanishes in a flash,
  179. leaving you in his
  180. throne room.

  182. It seems you're
  183. confrontation alone
  184. was sufficient to
  185. bring about the
  186. downfall of the
  187. Empire.  Now you
  188. need only to escape
