  1. All of the *.WPG images in this "Clipart Cornucopia" were originally
  2. published on GEnie's WordPerfect RoundTable during 1989-1993.
  3. Shortly after the WordPerfect RoundTable opened in December '88,
  4. SysOp Ted McKosky realized that there was a crying need for a wide
  5. variety of clipart to support newsletters, greeting cards, and flyers
  6. that would be prepared by the varied membership of the RoundTable.
  7. As a result, Ted published the first "CAVOL" [Clip Art Volume] on
  8. January 2, 1989.  Soon, SysOp Dave Thomas jumped in and made his
  9. contributions; since that time over 550 volumes have been published
  10. with Ted McKosky providing the majority through his constant energy
  11. and research.

  13. All but a small portion of the 5,000 plus separate images in this
  14. collection have come from public domain sources. There are a few
  15. groups that were created by the SysOps, but by far the majority have
  16. come from United States and state government publications and old
  17. books whose copyright has expired.  The images are the result of five
  18. years of intensive research through many hours spent in public and
  19. university libraries.

  21. To make this clipart available to a wider audience, every image has
  22. been converted to *.PCX format and each is available in both *.PCX
  23. and *.WPG formats.  The PICEM viewing program views the *.PCX images;
  24. WordPerfect users may wish to view the images with their WordPerfect
  25. program.

  29. The WordPerfect RoundTable is the source on GEnie for information and
  30. help with WordPerfect Corporation products.  Computer specific areas
  31. provide programs, tips, and other support for IBM PC-compatibles and
  32. Macintosh, with some support for the 68000 series of Amiga, Apple][,
  33. and Atari.

  35. Under the "CourtesyWare" description, the RoundTable SysOps publish
  36. volumes of Clip-Art and other support files at no additonal charge.
  37. This RoundTable features "Users helping Users" as a major source of
  38. reviews, macros, graphics, models, templates, programs, tips and all
  39. other kinds of information exchange pertaining to WordPerfect
  40. Corporation products. New releases of printer drivers from WPCorp are
  41. published in the software library shortly after their release. In
  42. addition, the WordPerfect Corporation provides technical support by
  43. way of its own staff members.

  55.    4. Now answer the questions and you will be able to use GEnie the 
  56.       next working day.  Be sure to have a credit card or checking     
  57.       account number handy when you signup.
